Palos Verdes real estate single family home sales in the first 20 days of March 2020 are 34 homes which is an increase from the 22 Palos Verdes homes sold in the first 20 days of February and a decrease from the first 20 days of March 2019 (39).  (It may take an additional week for some sales to post after the actual close of escrow).  The average sales price for single family Palos Verdes homes from March 1st to March 20th is $2,001,614 which is an increase from last month’s average of $1,741,434 for this same time period and an increase from $1,796,001 last March. In March 2020 to date, the highest priced Palos Verdes homes sold for $6,700,000 and is located in the Palos Verdes Drive South  neighborhood of Rancho Palos Verdes and had 6 bedrooms, 7 baths, and 7,617 square feet on a 27...

Palos Verdes real estate sales February 2020 for Palos Verdes homes decreased compared to January.  37 Palos Verdes houses sold in February compared to the 40 homes sold in January and decreased slightly compared to the 38 homes that sold in February 2019.  There were 66 Palos Verdes single family homes pending in February which increased from the 43 homes pending in January.  The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in February (140) decreased slightly from the 141 homes for sale in January. Average sales price for Palos Verdes homes sold in February increased to $1,755,000 compared to $1,723,000 in January, and decreased from the $2,014,000 in February 2019.  Price per square foot for Palos Verdes houses that sold/closed escrow in February increased to $633 from January ($607)...

2019 Palos Verdes homes sales for the Palos Verdes Drive North neighborhood increased to 81 single family homes sold compared to 56 in 2019.  Price per square foot for Palos Verdes Drive North houses that sold in 2019 increased to $658 compared from $612 in 2018, a 7.6% increase.  Average sales price for Palos Verdes Drive North homes sold in 2019 was $2,014,400 compared to $1,961,525 in 2018.  The most expensive home sold for $4,185,335 and the lowest priced home sold for $900,000. Currently, Palos Verdes Drive North has 21 active Palos Verdes homes for sale. 2019 Palos Verdes homes sales for the Valmonte neighborhood increased to 47 single family homes sold compared to 41 in 2019.  Price per square foot for Valmonte houses that sold in 2019 increased to $783 compared from $753 in 2018, a 3.9% increase.  Average sales price for Valmonte homes sold in 2019 was $1,704,949 compared to $1,733,648 in 2018.  The most expensive home sold for $3,720,000 and the lowest priced home sold for $1,180,000. Spring Break is not yet here for the Palos Verdes Unified School District, but summer school signs ups are quickly approaching and if history repeats itself they will fill up fast. Registration for Palos Verdes elementary students for summer school will begin on Monday, April 6, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.  This year the Summer Break program classes will be held at Soleodo and Dapplegray.  The school hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and classes run from Monday, June 22, through Friday, July 18, 2020.  There will not be classes on July 4, 2020.  They will be offering 4 week programs, and a two week workshop.  The cost for the four week program is $620, and the two week workshop is $310. Spring Break Camp is available for Palos Verdes Unified School District students in grades TK through 8 from March 30 through April 3, 2020, – hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  This is a great opportunity for working parents to use a convenient daycare for their school age children.  The District will also allow students, who are not currently enrolled in PV Kid’s Corner, to join the program.  In order to participate, you must complete a registration packet and return it to the PV Kid’s Corner business office no later than March 20, 2020.  The business office is located at 3801 Via La Selva, Palos Verdes Estates.The full day camp will take place at Soleado Kids Corner and will be a fun experience for children during the week of Spring break.  The fee for participation is $175 per child ...

Point Vicente Interpretive Center has started counting whales for the 2019/2020 Whale Watching season.  This famous landmark gives Palos Verdes homes owners a local center where they can go and watch these massive mammals off our coastline.   This season officially started December 1, 2019, and according to the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, as of today, there have been 399 gray whales counted going south.  Most of the whales are traveling south to Baja and the concern in the last several months has been that they are swimming in the large container ship paths. The Palos Verdes tide pools offer an amazing and enjoyable visit no matter how many times you have been there.  I love the magic of seeing all the creatures living in the pools and each visit seems to add something new.  Palos Verdes homes owners are lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful tide pool areas.
