Interest is heading UP....and according to many it will not be in the 5's again for a LONG time! Reason number 1 to buy now-Interest rates! Reason number 2-take advantage of the tax credit! Reason number 3 inventories are still great to choose from!   Waiting to purchase can cost you in these three ways....Paying more per month on that payment. Not getting the current and soon to expire tax credit.Waiting may pose you to more competition as the inventories go down....more competition usually means higher prices for the most desirable homes!   Regards   Richard

The active available inventory has been hovering around 1450 now for some time. We should continue to see more short sales as we progess and probably less REO's in the next year. Many banks are figuring out that a short sale is the way to go instead of paying all the money in Foreclosure expenses. There are still around 50 properties in and around the greater Redding area that are under $100k! There are some Tremendous deals on the upper end estates! One in particular that came out today is approx 5200 sq.ft of custom quality at $995,000....That was a $2. something Million dollar home at the top! The weather is cooling off and there are still some great buy out there...many even pencil out! Something that you couldn't find 3-5 years ago! Regards,   Richard Goates Search the Redding MLS ...

If you live in California and want to take advantage of the latest tax credits you can do pretty well right now...if you hurry...The money for the tax credits is already close to being half gone! Get the facts on what is being offered on your potential tax credit and how it will impact you if you decide to buy now or soon...once the money is gone....it's gone... Beware of any advertisements that say "the government will mail you a check for $8,000" when you purchase a home from me!! Once such local advertisement I recently heard!! I couldn't believe my ears when the person said "buy a home from me now and the government will mail you a check for $8,000!".....I can hear the attorneys right now jockeying for position....that should be a pretty simple case....owch.....Who will be the first...

I have learned a lot in my short time here on earth. I have learned the importance of Family, of Love, of Relationships.Life is supposed to be exciting and an adventure. One of the exciting things I have recently learned is the power of letting go! Letting go of old habits...letting go of old ways of doing business that no longer work...letting go of having to have certain results for this or that...It is amazing to me to learn that when we do let go- all kinds of good things happen. That attachment thing can be pretty disappointing sometimes when expectations are not met... Our life is a result of how we think about it- a direct result of how we think.Check your thoughts...check them on a regular basis and ask yourself...are my thoughts positive or negative? Are they negative by chance? Palo Cedro, its a bedroom community to Redding. It's only a 10 minute drive into redding but yet a world away. Palo Cedro offers many benefits over living in the city. There is a small town feel and sense of community that is hard to duplicate. There are numerous events during the year such as the honeybee festival, the Christmas event with Santa and many more. We currently are looking for 5-10 acres in the Palo Cedro area that is available for sale.If you have a secluded 5+ acre parcel available call me today to discuss how we may be able to sell it for you. Palo Cedro California is a bedroom community outside the city of Redding approx 10 minutes.See we talk in minutes around here not miles...lol. I had a client one time say "why do you always say 10 minutes to here and 15 to there?" I told him unlike the Bay Area it is the same almost every day from place to place. Palo Cedro offers that small town feel but is a short drive to major shopping in Redding. It is still a place where people stop in the street and talk and many people know each other. One highlight is the Christmas event every year where the great People at Hawes have the cars pulled by a tractor and Santa is there. They usually have a bonfire also.It pretty neat each year. It wasn't that long ago that you couldn't find a home in Palo Cedro fit to live in for under $250k...Now th...

I saw an interesting site today. I was follow behind a car traveling extremely fast going into the city this morning. She was probably at least 15-20 mph over the posted speed limit. In the distance I saw a school bus that was slowing down. Now the first thing you think of when you see a school bus slow down or stop is "When will those flashing RED lights come on"...right...well...not this lady! She didn't slow a bit. Then  I saw out of the corner of my eye also in the distance a child running to catch the bus. The flashing RED lights were on at this time as he ran right out in front of the car about 200 feet in front of me. The lady Slammed the brakes on and narrowly missed the child. Did this slow her down now you might ask? Yes for about another 200 yards and then back on the gas ped...
