Really? Okay, this post is almost a rant but I have to get this off my chest. This is something I have encountered more than not recently. Because I mostly stage vacant homes there are usually some things that have been let go like yard care, home care and lite maintenance items such as replacing old batteries in smoke detectors. I will always mention these items to the listing agent in preparation for staging a home to sell. But do I really have to point out that the very annoying, loud chirp-chirp of a smoke detector(s) going off does not send a positive vibe to perspective buyers?The biggest purpose of home staging is to create a positive emotional appeal, a connection to a house so buyers can envision what it would be like to live there.
