75 Degrees to 107 Degrees in Just 2 Hours – Crazy!! I was again reminded about how dramatically the temperatures can vary from our coastal area here in Carlsbad to the California desert.  We enjoy visiting the desert cities from time to time, even when it’s warm, and just returned from a quick getaway. The shift from 75 degrees the other morning when we left, to 107 degrees 2 hours later when we drove down the mountains into Palm Desert, was a bit of a shock.   The nice thing about visiting at this time of year in the desert is it is not crowded, with far less traffic, and it’s easy to get into restaurants for dinner. What Looks Like a Palm Tree But Isnt!  What looks like a palm tree from a distance but really isn't? A palm tree cell tower! We have been to the California desert (Palm Desert, La Quinta, Palm Springs) a number of times and spied this palm tree cell tower on one of our weekend trips. It was too perfect, even from a distance, so you could tell it was fake.

Our Neighborhood Roadrunner in Palm Desert CA  We spied this fellow wandering around the condo complex where we used to have a rental unit in Palm Desert. He didn't stay still for long, and while he didn't move as fast as that cartoon Roadrunner he was pretty speedy. We were there checking on the rental unit and found him standing in front of the door. With lots of lizards around in the hot summer sun (over 100!) he no doubt was having a feast. We occasionally see them here in Carlsbad but they seem to like the hotter weather.

The last thing any homeowner or seller wants to do is scare away a buyer but many homeowners are staging their home with items, designs or materials that are just not practical and actually do more harm than good.
