A lot of homeowners today assume they cannot refinance because they do not have enough equity to do so, or if they refinance a loan over 80% of their property value the loan will automatically carry mortgage insurance.   The 25 year fixed mortgage is an awesome mortgage product for homeowners and buyers to take advantage of in this market. Because of record low rates again, "The 25 Year Fixed Loan" is providing homeowners with an opportunity to payoff their home 5 years earlier by using the same payment they already have on their 30 year mortgage! Check out this $300k scenario below. A homeowner with a 30 year loan at 5% can refinance into 4.375% on a "25 year Fixed loan" & it only raises their payment $36 a month, but the 25 year loan will save the homeowner over $85,882 in interest & mortgage payments over their current 30 year mortgage.   Will mortgage rates go to the 4% lows of last year? A lot of people have asked me this over the past week or two. The answer is, yes they are coming and here is why. The US recovery recently touted by the Govt and the Fed has been a "false start", as recent economic data has been very disappointing to say the least. The bond markets are the best barometer out there for the state of the economy, and this is why rates are heading back towards the lows of 2010 when 4% rates were available for most people.
