Week Long Feud of the Century! I am sure that many of you have heard the buzz on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” about the conflict between Jon and Jim Cramer of CNBC’s Mad Money. We had a great thread in the BIGGER POCKETS forum about this today and it got me all fired up! While Cramer’s intelligence level for finance would make me look like a 3rd grader, I feel that he is simply trying to serve two masters: Wall Street and CNBC/NBC. He answers to the higher powered executives at CNBC/NBC, and the CEO/Wall St in-crowd. The guy is in a real pinch here. One of the eye-openers for people in this interview should be this: Cramer said, “Mad Money is an Entertainment show about business” He also went on to say that the goal (Code Decipher: NBC Executive pressure for ratings) was to attract...

I Love statistics! So today I decided to do a little research on Newport Beach as a whole compared to Balboa Island. Although Balboa Island is a small community in Newport it does have some of the most expensive real estate in Newport. Although we constantly hear how it's a buyers market and it is. Look at the inventory graph on the Island. Not mamy homes for sale, compared to the rest of the city. If you find this kind of information interesting please sign up for one of my Executive reports for any zipcode you like and it will be emailed to you immediately.

Well it's a new year and Real Estate amongst many other subjects continues to be a hot topic. I must say I was surprised at the slide in prices in our Newport Beach neighborhoods. I didn't think it would happen. But it has created an opportunity for many to buy and to buy Newport Beach Real Estate at bargain prices. Newport Beach Real Estate continues to give buyers plenty of choices. With 405 homes for sale in Newport Beach and the average days on market being 179, buyers can negotiate exceptional bargains. Look at the 92660 zip code below. Inventory has been decreasing lately, which is a good sign, but we still have a ways to go before it gets to be a sellers market. If you have thought about purchasing a home in Newport Beach right now you have choices. Price ranging from $389,000 al...

It has been raining fairly steadily for the past few days here in Orange County, and as I write this post, I hear it starting again. But, this afternoon, the rain stopped, the sunny, blue skies for which we are famous were in full glory, and I took the opportunity to take walk out on the Newport Pier and enjoy the beauty for which this area is justly famous. Take a look at these pictures, and you'll see why those of us who live here feel so lucky for the place we call home.     *************************************************************************** About the author: Christine Donovan is a California Residential Real Estate Broker with experience in assisting clients buy and sell residential real estate. Every day I am reminded of how fortunate I am to live in Southern California. Just a note, we are not all like "Housewives of Orange County". Since I have spent the majority of my life here, there are times when I start to take it all for granted. Just when I am caught up in the business of life, I catch a glimpse of the Pacific ocean and Catalina Island or the San Bernardino Mountain Range. Or simply, a palm tree, palm frawns blowing gently in the wind framed against a Southern California sunset. Or, when I take a break from my hectic summer day and take a swim in the ocean. These simple things humble me and help me appreciate how truly fortunate I am.  I spoke to a neighbor the other day who is a gentleman in his early eighties and has traveled the world. He has lived places I did not...

Selling your home in a down market doesn't have to be difficult, you just have to be smart and realistic. First of all find the right Realtor. One that is experienced and one that does not have so many listings that you will just be another one. Pick a Realtor that will give you and your home attention and service. The thruth of the matter is that many homes will sell this year. After all interest rates are extremely low, (in the 4's) and home pricing couldn't be better. What better time to buy. If you have equity in your home it's a great time to sell. Look at it this way if you buy low you will sell low, but if you sell high you will also buy high. Doesn't it make sense to sell low, buy low and take advantage of the low interest rates? The key to a successful sale today, is to price a...
