Wordless Wednesdays: Life of Holly in a pet friendly home... As a pet friendly Realtor in Los Angeles, I not only talk a good game, but I practice what I preach. Now with that said how many homes can show pictures of their dog being sandwiched by two cats one on each side. Now in all fairness she does not seem that thrilled but clearly does not mind. On a side note, they all end up in bed with us and I am glad we have a King Sized bed.  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focused and goal-oriented Realtor in the Beverly Hills area who will help you achieve your Real Estate goals, please reach out to me directly! The Exile by Allan Folsom, a book review by Endre Barath, Jr. a Beverly Hills Realtor Do you like to read?  Do you love a good page turner, a book that will make you want to stay up all night and hole up all weekend to read?  If yes, then have I got a book recommendation for you.  The Exile is my fourth book by author Allan Folsom; the first three I read were The Day After Tomorrow, The Machiavelli Covenant and Day of Confession.   I loved all of them.  For no good reason, I went on a book sabbatical, just not having the motivation or the inclination to read.  With a houseful of books, this was not a good thing.  Thanks to my Active Rain friend and author,  Ricki Eichler McCallum , I got back to reading again with her two novels Snow Fire and Snow Fire Revenge and Justice.  Which brings...

Motivation Monday: Please let me know what you think of these quotes. Just as a background I bought this book in 2002 and the quotes are from it. I met the author, and she personalized it for me, and I am grateful for it. The book is called "Business Etiquette" by Ann Marie Sabath. I loved her quotes hence I thought I would share it here." Civility costs nothing and buys everything" Lady Mary Worley Montagu "Nature has given men one tongue and two ears, that we may hear twice as much as we speak" Epictetus. "All sins cast great shadows." Irish proverb "The central problem of our age is how to act decisively in the absence of certainty" Bertrand RussellWishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Speechless Sunday: what did you have for dinner? We had swordfish with mashed potatoes and a vegetable mixture of Lacinato Kale, spinach and mushrooms.Easy to make, you bake the Swordfish with a little olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and lemon zest. Oh, and do not forget a little garlic and some onions ( I love sweet onions)While you are baking the fish, the vegies are boiling in bone broth. Then the mashed potatoes were from flakes so easy to make:)Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Throwback Thursdays: sometimes I have to check on my Real Estate Signs...Sometimes, I find it is important to take a tour and look at my Real Estate Signs. Some neighborhoods I do not even put up a sign because I know that the neighbors think by knocking down my sign, I will not be able to sell it and they do not have to worry about someone building near their home...Yes, it does sound strange when we have all the internet portals some neighbors still think that only the sign will sell the property. How naive, anyway, then again there are other neighbors who are totally different. They call me and tell me someone vandalized your sign check it out.All depends on the personalities, and I am grateful for the kind neighbors. Some even tell me... Well, when we are ready to sell, we will be r...

Most of you who read my posts, know I focus on Real Estate, and the rest of the time I focus on cooking and eating good food. When we visit our doctor for our annual checkups, we discuss, that there is hardly any salt on the menu and there is always a balanced gourmet meal on the table.Well, there are times when there is nothing but a good healthy soup. Might not be gourmet, but very tasty and healthy. "...I think one of the terrible things today is that people have this deathly fear of food: fear of eggs, say, or fear of butter. Most doctors feel you can have a little bit of everything..."I so agree with JULIA Child she was spot on with this observation."...the more you know, the more you can create. There's no end to imagination in the kitchen..."Julia Child's quote is so spot on, I kn...

I had some left-over Fried Onion Pieces from Trader Joe's since Thanksgiving, hence I searched high and low on the internet for some recipes. Well, I found a Crescent Roll recipe. I happen to have a roll in the fridge, so I made it into my version.Real simple take the Crescent rolls and place some Friend Onion Pieces on the dough and roll it up. I used a lot less than what the recipe called for just to be cautions and I am glad I did. Then the recipe called for an egg wash on top, I did not think that was necessary instead I chose to melt some unsalted butter and poured a bit over the Crescent Rolls and sprinkled some more Friend Onion Pieces and bake it for 12 minutes on 425 degrees and all I can say is Diane approved it. BTW the dinner was easy too, post coming soon:))   Wishing you a ...

Wishing everyone who reads this post a Happy Lunar New Year again... this post was inspired by a comment Laura Cerrano  had to say. I wrote a post about the Lunar New Year if you missed it here is a link to it.   https://activerain.com/droplet/HX8r Anyway, our friend Laure posted either on FB or Instagram that you need to put some Oranges out for the New Year and she had listed numbers what they mean, 8 was for prosperity and 9 was for longevity. I will not tell you what I picked nor what Diane has picked. Needless to say here is the bowl and you guess or count how many oranges are in the bowl.  Not as exciting as Wayne Martin  quizzes but at least you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right:)Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Market snapshot of the Los Angeles, CA 90020 zip code... as most of my regular readers know I follow a handful of zip codes very closely since I have clients who ask about them regularly. I would be remiss if I did not share this here today.I have often been asked in what part of Los Angeles is the 90020-zip code? Well, this time I thought I would share what the Post Office had to say:Stats and Demographics for the 90020 ZIP CodeZIP code 90020 is located in southern California and covers a slightly less than average land area compared to other ZIP codes in the United States. It also has an extremely large population density. The people living in ZIP code 90020 are primarily Asian. Wordless Wednesdays: The rain stopped, and the birds were frolicking well this morning we had a reprieve from all the rain we have been getting for the last three or four days. The sun came out and the birds were frolicking in our backyard bird bath.Check it out. On a side note, as I write this post it is raining again. I keep telling Diane it is good for the grass and good for our citrus trees:))))) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. What to do on a Sunday afternoon while the Atmospheric River is raging through the Greater Los Angeles area? Well, I decided to make "sauce" (Italian Pasta Sauce) and use my leftover frozen Turkey Meatballs with some Spaghetti Squash.I would have posted about it yesterday, but the platform was not permitting me to do so.Now with that said, to make the Sauce is a three-to-four-hour project. Most of my readers have seen me write about it. I should look for the old recipe and link it to my post here.Hence while I was working on the Sauce, I thought this would be a good time to take the Spaghetti Squash, cut it in half. clean it out and bake it for about 45 minutes. As I was finishing up the sauce, I figured bake the squash with the turkey meatballs and sauce for another 45 minutes and dinne...

First, I would like to thank all of you who reached out to me if Diane and the furry family are OK during this unusual time.Second, I would like to thank the powers to be who had anything to do with getting the platform up and running. I usually comment to everyone after 9:30pm and if time permits do a blog post. Clearly yesterday was not to be...Thanks to last night's glitch, I was able to read for about three hours, so I am grateful for that as well.Allow me to focus on the update of the Atmospheric River in the greater Los Angeles area. Gratefully we live in Westchester, CA 90045 virtually next to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as most of my readers know I have to wash my citrus fruit before I put it on the table thanks to Airplane Dust. Now with that said look how lucky we w...

What to make for dinner on a Saturday Night? Well, I was out of sauce as some know it as red sauce aka tomato sauce. Short notice inspiration I decided to make this. Look at the top photo, that was the finished product.well looking at the above photo you will see, vegetables, chicken stock and chicken sausage with garlic and herbs. I had this colorful bow pastas from Trader Joe's,. Bought them during the Holiday, they not only looked good but were from Italy. So you can guess added it to the above concoction. Here you have it a few minutes of continued boiling and reduction created the first photo. Needless to say, it was a success barely any leftovers. Now tonight's dinner was a bit of work. Stay tuned to my next post about it. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to y...

What is going on in Los Feliz the 90027 zip code of Los Angeles, CA?... I received three calls from different buyers and sellers wanting to know what is going on in this zip code. Hence, I thought I would share here what I told them.Sat Feb 03 2024This week the median list price for Los Angeles, CA 90027 is $3,260,000 with the market action index hovering around 38. This is less than last month's market action index of 39. Inventory has increased to 33.  The market has been cooling over time and prices plateaued for a while. Despite the consistent decrease in MAI, we’re in the Seller’s zone. Watch for changes in MAI. If the MAI resumes its climb, prices will likely follow suit. If the MAI drops consistently or falls into the Buyer’s zone, watch for downward pressure on prices.  Market S...

Wordless Wednesdays: Technology/AI is not your friend... I have been reading a lot of posts thanks to this month's Active Rain Challenge about AI. I wrote a diplomatic post about it. Well, this is not about the Challenge, this happened today.  To give you a background for those who do not know I was born in Communist Hungary where the government tried to control people's thought process and I see today technology is trying to do the same. So, with that said be forewarned and be careful. Look at the photos and I will just leave it at that. When Diane and I talk to each other there are times she is in the other room and does not hear what I said. Hence the joke has been I yell to her "Do you want me to tell you in Hungarian?" Keep in mind my phone is always in my hip pocket in case I get a...

Speechless Sundays: Have you ever had Grillo's Pickles?... all I could say is if you never had it, you are missing out. In all fairness it has a kick to it so if you do not like or cannot have spicey food, this is not for you.Years ago, I bought it, and Diane thought it was a bit too spicey... now not going into details, she asked me to buy it again for another reason. I loved it and again it was too spicey for her. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it, and we have it in the fridge. Keeping in mind I am digressing. We had a late lunch today with a friend and where I was sitting there was this advertisement. Check out the photos. Now with that said may I ask do you have a PhD? :)) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focu...
