Los Angeles CA Mount Washington West Classic Mid-Century Homes         This is a report on the Mount Washington West neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles(zip code 90065).  Located close to Elyria Canyon Park and just north of Downtown Los Angeles, it is a part of what is known as NorthEast Los Angeles(NELA).       Construction in the Ray Watt built community began in the early 1960s and 200 plus split level homes in a variety of floor plans were built.  It is the only large scale development within the canyon area.         This has historically been a very stable community with many long term(and quite a few original) homeowners.       The overall appearance is well-maintained and neat but there are certainly opportunities to transform the spaces to reflect 21st century living.      ... 01/29/2015
