VA Loans and Derogatory Item Waiting Periods for Borrowers Part Three of the series I have written a couple posts previously about Conventional Loans and the waiting periods as well as the details, that it entails to have a clean slate. Needless to say VA Loans have different Waiting Periods:If a borrower had a Bankruptcy Chapter 7 the Waiting period is 2 years from the Bankruptcy Discharge date. Just like other loans the borrower must have reestablished credit history.If the borrower had a Bankruptcy Chapter 13 then the waiting period is one year from the Bankruptcy date, provided the borrower has a re-established credit history and extenuating circumstances. Throwback Thursdays, I guess I have been behind the curve.  First I have always liked to march to my own beat and second I always liked to stick out of the crowd....So clearly I never did a Throwback Thursday Post. Are you familiar with the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013? Just in case you are not familiar, this Act authorizes the Secretaries the Army as well as the other Branches of military to transfer back the Military Working Dogs (MWD) who are to be retired and for whom no suitable adoption is available at the military facility where the dog is located. Basically this Act protects our four legged Soldiers who keep us and our two legged soldier out of harm’s way. Now they are not just considered “equipment”.
