The Other Side of The Coin - Part 2 Okay so here's my second post on our personal experience of short-selling our home and finding a home to lease.  It's always nice for a seller or buyer to know that we understand what they are actually going through and how they are feeling.  And I especially now can understand the buyers perspective and the sellers perspective from a whole new viewpoint. Kickoff Time for Summer Reading Programs In La Verne Okay, so it's time, now that graduations are over and school is out, for parents to find things for their kids to do over the summer.  One of the really great suggestions is Library reading programs and La Verne has one of the best. The library in  La Verne  is on the  Los Angeles County system  so it has many benefits.  Did you know you can ask for a book from another library in the system and they deliver it to  La Verne  for you?  Seems like a pretty great plan to me!  And there are plenty of books available for "check out" for your eReader. Time to Celebrate! Okay, today's post will be short and sweet.  For those of you who read yesterday's post you will know that our son Michael is graduating from Chaparral High School today and we are cleaning and getting the food ready for tonight's fun and festivities. I've just got to give a shout out to everyone at Chap.  They have really taken a kid who was pretty shy and not very good in school and helped shape him into the leader and outgoing person he is today! Not to mention, I believe he is getting a scholarship tonight.  Honestly, they are DA BOMB! And as for us, this is five out of five getting through high school and some are almost through college... so it's absolutely time to celebrate!Congratulations Michael, Class of 2012!

Bonita Unified Graduations 2012 Okay, so if you've ever followed my blog before, you know that Bonita Unified School District covers the cities of San Dimas AND La Verne together.  There are a total of three (3) high schools in Bonita; San Dimas High School, Bonita High School and  Chapparal High School. The graduations will begin tonight with the commencement ceremonies of San Dimas High School graduating class of 2012 which begins at 6PM on the San Dimas HSfootball field.  Tomorrow evening will be the graduation of Chaparral High School (GO MICHAEL!) also at 6PM at the Fairplex Avalon Ballroom. La Verne Concerts in Heritage Park, Summer 2012 Okay, so it's that time of year again!  Time for swimming, walking the dogs at night in the cooler temperatures and time for those amazing concerts in the park.  In the City of La Verne, those concerts are held at Heritage Park in northern La Verne. La Verne State of The City and School District Okay, so I was reading an article about the State of the City and School District in the City of La Verne. Mayor Don Kendrick along with Bonita Unified Superintendent of Schools (which covers both San Dimas and La Verne) Gary Rapkin made a joint presentation to share how things are going along. The City of La Verne portion stated that there are major budget cuts coming due to the fact that the federal government has dissolved all of the Redevelopment Agencies.  This will lower the budget for this year by $4M and then $2M in the following years. The Bonita Unified School District is reported to be ready to tackle a loss of $5M for the next year if the voters do not approve the state's proposed tax increases on the November ballot.  (Right he...
