Our La Quinta weather is dreamy most of the year.  Really.  Our winters are warm and mild and we have sunshine when the rest of the country is piled with snow.  We play golf in shorts in January.  That's why so many people spend the "season" here and leave their frigid midwest, or Pacific northwest homes behind.  The summer here is hot and like most years we have a "last blast" of heat in late September or October before the fall weather settles in.  Last week we had record breaking temps at 108° + and of course, I'm taking advantage and swimming my daily laps.  I don't mind the heat- in fact I really love the hot desert days and balmy nights.  Fall will arrive soon enough... La Quinta Country Club Series: 3. The Real EstateThe Lawrence Hughes designed championship golf course opened in 1959 and real estate soon followed.  Because each enclave of homes and neighborhoods were built  and developed over time, there are multiple HOA's. There are several gates to access the homes, some with guards, others with key/cards and clickers. The country club itself can only be accessed by car from its front gate, but you can drive  there from the neighborhoods in your golf cart. Ladies Rule!The Ladies at La Quinta Country Club play a big role in making the club a first class and desirable place to play golf, live, and have fun!  Unlike some clubs that cater to the boys, LQCC has a vibrant and active ladies group with a full calendar of events.  Our season opening day this year will be the first week of November, play will begin followed by the lively opening party that weekend. I know I wrote my first listing agreement for this house over a decade ago.  And I finally sold it last week. I tried to access my old forms to determine the first time I listed it, and it was with my very first broker.  So it could have been 12 years ago.  It sits across the fairway from our home..
