Speechless Sunday- Bees Buzzing In the Attic! First of all, my story starts in East Highland, CA.  It used to be orange groves for as far as you could see. But in the past 20 years, most of the orange groves have been removed but the bees are still hanging around nearby. So last month I listed this bank owned house and everything was going well until I noticed a few bees up on the 2nd story eaves but no sign of a hive. So I bought a can of aerosol hair spray and said “No problem” I will take care of it since my contractor is out of town. When I got there I decided it was too high up. Went inside for my weekly inspection and noticed a few bees inside. Red Flag!!! Called 2 humane bee removal places and 3 exterminators to get bids. Of the five calls out, only one exterminator called back s...

Highland Real Estate The Highland real estate market has been extremely volatile in the past few years, from foreclosures, short sales and standard sales as well. But Highland real estate transactions are still happening in spite of the market crash and tough market conditions. While it is true that many unfortunate Highland homeowners are losing their properties to foreclosure, foreclosing banks and lenders are not in any hurry to list their Highland foreclosed assets for sale. Banks have slowed the resale of their Highland foreclosures to a trickle to keep the real estate marketplace competitive for buyers and to not flood the supply. It is a great time to buy Highland real estate if you have the resources to do so, but there are many buyers and investors buying foreclosures. These c...

Let Me Be Honest…..I am a Junkie, a Crossword Junkie. I am a crossword junkie and believe it or not, it relaxes me. I have been doing the puzzles in the newspapers for 40 years but now I do not take the daily newspaper anymore as my husband got tired of picking them up of the driveway after piling up.  Such a dilemma!   So the Internet “news” and TV networks is just fine for me and probably more updated that the newspaper but……..no crossword puzzles. I searched but did not like any puzzle sites I found including AARP. Then, I found a great site called Boat Load of Puzzles. It is pretty fast, very much addictive and you can open it up daily and just do one or two and there you have your crossword fix. So I thought I would share this site with anyone interested. I also do Solitaire in my ...

Today it is November and 80 degrees - beautiful. You can smell there is change in the air, people are friendlier andbusiness is brisk. Last Friday, I received two freebies: at the local pet store a premium dog food distributor let me rant about how the cost of his food has become very expensive. And would you know it, he gave me a bag of premium dog food. That same day, I went to the local pharmacyto pick up some allergy medicine, the pharmacist let me rant about the high cost of allergy medicine and voilla! She ripped open a pack of the meds. and gave me a sheet of pills right from the box. Ever since then I have been on a high - a grateful attitude of gratitude - supremely happy high.

369 Homes in Highland CA have sold since March 2009. Home sales in Highland CA have picked up dramatically. Currently, most regular listings(non Short Sales) receive an average of 10 to 20 offers the moment that home is made available for sale. Why? Because the inventory is stagnant. Listen in on a sales meeting at Any Real Estate Office, California and you'll hear that there is a four month inventory of active listings available - there isn't. I have three clients that want three particular areas defined by Thomas Guide grid and nothing is available and nothing new has come up for about two months. There are a no months supply of homes available.

I am excited to be selling homes in Highland, CA. I am thrilled that the homes that my clients are interested in are drawing small bidding wars. This is instrumental to recovery of a slagging market. My clients ask, "is it true that some houses are going for higher than the asking price," or "is it possible that there may be more than our offer on the same property?" Yes. Yes. This is a sign that the Real Estate muscle is starting to be worked out again. This will ultimately lead to a more robust sellers market and higher values in the long run.
