Today my family and I hiked along the head waters trail that lead through the old mile town site of Falk, CA.  This town was built over a hundred years ago as a mill town and featured residents numbering 400 people at its peak.  The town went under during the 1930s depression and now it is preserved for the salmon that swim through and as a great hiking trail for residents of Humboldt County and Eureka, CA.  The first mile or so of the trail is all paved in black cement and pretty flat and smooth.  Along the trail, there are markers and sites that showcase places along the trail that the town people of Falk use to live and work at.  If you get a chance, take a drive on Elk River Headwaters exit on Highway 101 and go all the way to the end where the park is.  For more information about t... 12/02/2007

Today I went over disclosures and inspections with my client at the Eureka office for Lucky Star Realty (located on 1626 F St, Eureka, CA 95501).  We had opened escrow a few days ago.  It is my client's first home purchase in Eureka and he was really excited.  I went over each of the disclosures with him and some we still needed to do, like our visual inspections and home inspection.  We already had the pest and termite inspection, even the roof inspection and appraisal because the sellers on this particular house are eager to sell and have all the forms completed that they could.  My buyer and I were glad for that because then we do not have to make the sellers order those inspections.  So the only inspection we had left is the Home Inspection.  I called up a local inspector, Northcoas... 10/27/2007

Lately, in Eureka, Fortuna, McKinleyvill, Arcata, Crescent City and surrounding areas in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, it seems that the prices are being stable and dropping rather than going up as was seen a couple years ago.  For homes in the Eureka area, even the properties in the mid to upper $200,000s are staying on the market longer than previous years.  Then there are those $400,000 and up homes that are staying on the market longer and longer.  At this point, both sellers and buyers are fully aware that it IS a buyer's market.  So sellers need to be more realistic about pricing their homes and buyers are being more careful about their home purchase in both Humboldt and Del Norte counties.  Even in Crescent City, the savvy investors are becoming more and more scarce.  Most buy... 06/25/2007

Today I had an appointment to see houses with my clients Joe and Clara. They both are looking to move in Fortuna, Looking for 2 car garage and 2/3 home. The first house that we viewd was a single family home 2bed and 1 bath. Needs a bit of work but only 1 car garge. Today I took my family to enjoy some crabs and chicken at China Buffet All You Can Eat Restuarant in Eureka California. This restuarant is one of the best Chinese cuisine in Humboldt County that you can come in, sit down, order free drinks and go right for your meal.  The food is spread out in isles along a section of the restuarant and tables are comfortably arranged throughout the restuarant.  The waiters and waitresses are friendly and kind, awaiting your every order, and the food is a nice mix of traditional Chinese cuisine and some American delicacies.  TonightI tried some chicken chowmein, dim-sums, and broccoli chicken.
