Granny Flats:City of San Diego Votes To Waive Fees  The City of San Diego is certainly not trying to throw Granny over a cliff. Truth be known the City is doing everything it can to help place Granny in her own Backyard Home.   San Diego is the first City in the County to officially waive environmental and developmental impact fees along with other front-loaded permit costs which are more in line with what you would expect to pay for the development of an entirely custom site built single family detached home. These monumental front loaded fees could be as high as $20-40 thousand dollars before even sticking a shovel in the dirt.
