Exciting news in Desert Hot Springs this evening! the city council has voted to move ahead with a 34M redevelopment bond. The bond is A rated ranking it as good as Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage! this is great news for the city known for having some of the best water in the world and it's natural hot mineral springs. The bond will provide monies for new streets, rehab the small downtown area and the city will buy parcels Pierson Dr. making it possible to eventually build a city center to mention a few of the plans. The city has been in disrepair for many years but known for it's boutique spa's motels and hotels. The Desert Local News and  The Desert Sun Has reported on this. I was also at the council meeting myself and was happy to be there while history was being made for this city that ...

Mountain View By Mission Lakes is a community of close to 380 homes. The community is nestled against the hills on the west side of Desert Hot Springs. There is also an age qualified section so there is something for everyone. The community is a gated community that has three pools, Tennis courts, sport courts and a tot lot for the little ones. Many of the homes have amazing views and some are located on the Mission Lakes Golf Course, for newer homes you can't beat the price point! The city of Desert Hot Springs has had some challenges in the past, in the last year there is a new mayor, city council, city manager and new police chief. It seems that the city is now on tract after much neglect in the main part of town for years. So things are looking up! Mountain View is a great community t...

After doing Many open houses in a home that Is located on the golf course on the west side of Desert Hot Springs (near Palm Springs), A couple from Canada came in and really liked the home as they were deciding where to put there furniture and enjoying the views. The reason I mention they were from Canada is that we get many buyers from Canada and refer to them as snow birds. Thankfully they are buying here and helping the Coachella Valley real estate market.  The last three escrows we had were our friends from Canada and they were great to work with as they usually pay cash! now I am not sure If a book was written on make sure you really low-ball the sellers, but that is what is happening right now. So after educating these buyers with the latest comps and also the recent builder comps...

While working on the west side of Desert Hot Springs, with two listings in the community of mountain View By Mission lakes I was seeing good activity at my open houses. It was interesting to me that many of the people had heard the city was getting on track after many years of bad management. Also many people had not considered moving here and didn't know about the Mission Lakes area and the golf course there. The home we had open was on the golf course and was newer construction with views of the mountains and valley. It is good to see DHS start making a turning point. The main part of town  with some great spas will take some time after much neglect, it will be interesting to see where the city is in the next five years. If it keeps on the new track it is on, there could be some...
