Ice Skating by the Sea~ Hotel Del Coronado 2022 ~ It’s almost time for the holiday tradition, Skating by the Sea, at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. My guess is this is the only beachfront ice skating available in the San Diego area, although there are several indoor ice rinks! Skating by the Sea starts next Thursday, November 17th and continues through January 1st 2023.  Imagine ice skating under a bright blue sky with palm trees waving, the sun shining, and a gorgeous beach and ocean steps away! Yes, you might need a sweater, especially with our fall and winter ocean breezes, but typically at this time of year you can expect temps in the 50s to low 60s even at the beach during the day. Evenings can be cooler, however. And there’s no snow to worry about…just some beautiful ice! He...

Coronado's Housing Market is still very hot and it is still a seller’s market. In May we had 17 sold home with an average sales price of close to $3,000,000. The inventory is remaining low and we haven't seen interest rates make a big impact on the market yet.You can view the full report at: https://www.premierhomescoronado.com/coronado-housing-market

Skating by the Sea Returns to the Hotel Del Coronado Beginning November 26, 2019 Believe it or not the time has come for the popular Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, the 15th consecutive year. I believe this is the only beachfront ice skating in San Diego! Skating by the Sea starts Tuesday, November 26th and runs through January 5th 2020. Because of our rain (which was badly needed) the opening of the skating rink has been delayed a few days according to the hotel website. Wow, imagine ice skating under a bright blue sky with palm trees waving, the sun shining, and a gorgeous beach and ocean just steps away!?  It’s possible you MAY need a sweater, especially with our fall and winter ocean breezes, but generally at this time of year you can expect temps in high...

Ice Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado for 2018 The holiday season is here, and it’s time once again for the very popular Ice Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, the 14th consecutive year. As far as I know this is the only beachfront ice skating in San Diego...and maybe in California! Can you imagine ice skating under a bright blue sky with palm trees waving, the sun shining, and a gorgeous beach and ocean just a few steps away!?  It’s possible you MAY need a sweater, especially with our ocean breezes, but generally at this time of year you can expect temps in high 50s to low 60s at the beach, sometimes better!  Of course there is no snow to worry about! The Hotel Del Coronado is a San Diego icon, a special place by the beach and ocean. It’s well worth a...

Go Ice Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego  Once again it’s time to enjoy the very popular Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, the 13th consecutive year. And it’s the only beachfront ice skating in San Diego!  For those of you in colder climates, imagine ice skating under a bright blue sky with the sun shining, palm trees waving, and the beautiful beach and ocean just steps away!? While you may need a sweater, especially with ocean breezes, typically at this time of year you can expect temps in high 50s to low 60s. And we just had a heat wave over Thanksgiving with temps in the 80s!   The Hotel Del Coronado is a San Diego icon and has been for years. The Del, as it’s fondly called, is a special place by the beach and ocean, and well worth a v...

Coronado House Value CheckCoronado is located in Central Coastal San Diego. Coronado’s most well-known attraction is the Hotel Del Coronado or “The Del” as us locals call it. Coronado Island is rich in history both military and civilian. There are 2 Navy Bases on Coronado which are Naval Air Station North Island and Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. The other San Diego naval bases are also within driving distance and are; Naval Base San Diego, Naval Base Point Loma and Navy Broadway Complex. We’ve helped many military and military families relocate to and from all areas of San Diego. To the south of the Hotel Del are the Coronado Shores High Rise Condos which are highly desirable on the Coronado Real Estate Market. I’ve lived in these condos before and it’s a very special place to live.Co...

Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado 2016 There’s still time to enjoy the very popular Skating by the Sea at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego, the 12th consecutive year. Can you envision ice skating under a bright blue sky with the sun shining in a brilliant blue sky, palm trees waving, and the beautiful beach and ocean just steps away!  You may need a sweater but typically at this time of year you can expect temps in high 50s to low 60s. It’s a far cry from the ice skating I remember from the Northeast in the winter!! The Hotel Del Coronado is a San Diego icon and has been for years. It’s a special place by the beach and ocean, and well worth a visit for dining, or just drinks, especially during the holidays when The Del is beautifully decorated.  There’s abundant shopping a...

We took a day and a half to enjoy being tourists in San Diego, and spent some of the time on Coronado Island on Father's Day in the town and at the Hotel Del Coronado. We stumbled across this amazing sand castle memorial to the horrific shootings in Orlando on the beach in front of the hotel. It was very moving, to say the least, and amazingly detailed.

One of the most desirable beachfront cities of the world, Coronado Island consists of 13.5 square miles and is located mere minutes from downtown San Diego. Coronado Island, nicknamed The Crown City, is an island connected to the mainland by a Tombolo, called the Silver Strand. Characterized by its abundant, green canopies, majestic waters and small town charm, the affluent resort town of Coronado Island is an ideal choice for those looking to relocate to sophisticated island living.1. Coronado BeachNamed the top beach in America, Coronado Beach extends 1.5 miles long and sparkles like a crown jewel, thanks to the mineral mica shimmering in the sand. First, we are going to drive by our favorite houses and narrow down our list.  Then, we will select which houses we want to view with our REALTOR®.  Next, we will meet with our REALTOR® and bring our checkbook along, ready to make an offer.  Our REALTOR® will show us the inside of the houses we already drove by and marked as our favorites.  We are going to take notes about the size of the house, the features, and write down any questions.  We will snap a few photos, if allowed by the seller.  Then we will all huddle together and discuss which houses we liked the best.  We will number them in order, from best to least, and then narrow it down to just one favorite house.See how quick and simple that can be?  I have heard stories from buyers who took 3 months (or more) to find a house, and...

Pick your favorite houses and learn about those neighborhoods.  Do research online, attend community events there, stroll through the park and meet people.  Ask questions of the residents who live in the area.  What do they like best?  Least? Drive through the neighborhoods at various times of day, evening, and weekends.  Visit the stores, schools, and churches in the area.  What type of recreational facilities are available?  Where do the children go after school?  Do you feel safe?  You should be able to get a good feel for the neighborhoods. Your mortgage and housing expenses are your #1 priority and more important than your other bills, especially consumer goods. Your homeowner housing expenses include: Mortgage (due monthly) Property taxes (due twice per year) Hazard insurance (due annually) HOA fees (if applicable) Stop and think about it.  What expenses should be paid first, above all others?  Your housing expense should always be paid before anything else because it is the roof over your head.  It provides shelter for you and your family.  It is the most basic necessity. If you don't pay your mortgage (or rent), where are you going to live?  So do not jeopardize the security of your family’s home.  Always make sure your housing bill is paid on the first day of the month, before any other bills are paid. Have you ever taken the ferry to Coronado? Ever gone shopping, walked around the Coronado Ferry Landing, and imagined living at a condo for sale in the Coronado Point development? Coronado Point is one of my top picks for waterfront condos in Coronado, which is next to waterfront condos in THE LANDING ( another Bayfront development next door across the Centennial Park). Hey for only about 4 bucks you can catch the ferry from Coronado Point to Downtown San Diego at Broadway or vice versa.  I guess the way I see it, is if you want to live in San Diego on the water without needing a car. Then Coronado Point is where it's at.                           Coronado Point Condos offer a very unique, convenienet and almost magical like lifestyle. The grounds remind me of Hawaii almost. They are ve...
