For the first time ever, the City of Chino Hills is offering the “Youth Scholarship Program. ” This scholarship is funded by the Chino Hills Community Foundation for children ages 17 and younger. Applications for a $125 scholarship good towards any of the city-sponsored recreation events or classes of their choice. The deadline for applications is September 6,2011. Could the message also be that this is more about a business decision than anything else? This Mother’s Day weekend took on a totally new meaning. On Friday we loaded the car up to attend a track meet for my daughter in Palm Springs. We were excited and on the move! On Saturday morning, my seven year old daughter was a little nervous but excited about her track meet. The staunch, heavy heat was not letting up, however. After a couple of hours they called for her first race. Once she was done, we decided that we would head back to the hotel for some rest and lunch in between her races. My stomach felt queasy from the heat so I opted to have just a glass of juice and lay down. When it neared the time for her next race, we hurried back to the track meet.
