The primary Cambria real estate issue in Cambria California is the current moratorium that has been in place since November 2001 and the plan to build a desalinization plant to lift the moratorium. The Cambria Community Services District (CCSD) has not issued water permits since the inception of the moratorium. The price of real estate water hookups in Cambria has steadily increased since then and are currently just below $400,000 on the open real estate market.  Generally lots for sale in Cambria are sold to neighbors who may have interest in extending their property lines. If a lot has a nice location such as ocean views for a potential ocean view home it can be sold to someone interested in bringing a water meter there to build.Properties with no water position have a possibility of r...

They will be banned from plying the waters any closer than a mile from shore, according to rules approved in mid-April by the California Fish and Game Commission.Three Marine Protected Areas will span shoreline stretches from Arroyo de la Cruz near Piedras Blancas to a prominent point south of the former Cambria Air Force Radar Station. The restrictions are due to go into effect within a month or two, according to Jim Webb of Cambria, a representative of the Cambria Fishing Club.Webb said fishing-club members "are very excited about these changes. It will be more like it used to be," when fishing was so popular on the North Coast that Cambria had a couple o...

Cambria's Name Say CAM-bria as in Camelot not CAME-bria, as in came and went. Research: Jesse Arnold Design: Ginny Monteen "It has been suggested that the pronunciation of the name of Cambria, as accepted and officially recorded by the Cambria Chamber of Commerce, be brought to the attention of the readers at this point. The soft a is used and pronounced as in man."     Geneva Hamilton - Where the Highway Ends, Introduction 1974 Say Cam-bria as in Camelot not Came-bria Cambria is a spot whose perfection is marred only by the mispronunciation of its name. Most locals believe it sounds a bit bizarre to say CAMEbria, as in came and went. When the original settlers of Cambria decided to name their town, they submitted the name - Santa Rosa - to the Post Master General, because the town is o...

Foreclosures and Short Sales! Who would have thought we would be talking like this just a few years ago, especially on California's Central Coast. People still want to move here and more opportunities might be coming along. I know of two such properties on the market right now.
