Yet the resident population is 39,000-40,000. We have a strong economic base within our business community, take a look at Brea-Means-Business as an example. Brea is also known for excellence in education. The Brea-Olinda School district is well know for outstanding schools. Many of our schools have been recognized nationally as  National Blue Ribbon school. The state-of-the-art Brea-Olinda High School is a "Distinguished School" for 2007.  Folks come to Brea from the surrounding communities to shop till they drop. The Brea Mall is the second highest in Orange County for generating revenue. We also have a...

Brea, CA ~ Taking the plunge in good old Brea ~ It's a municipal pool as commonly known in most communities, however in our community of Brea, it's the plunge. How many years (if any) have you ever heard of a muni pool being called a plunge? It's throw back to yester-years. In fact, this is the oldest continually operated municipal pool in all of Orange County. City Hall Park (former home of our city hall, hence the name) on Brea Blvd. and Elm St. is the home of this California classic. It was built in 1929 the same year of the great stock-market crash. And the original cost to swim for the afternoon? Ten-cents! The photo at the bottom right is two of the local beauties showing off the fountain a one-time fixture at the plunge. Today the plunge is still a place for summer fun, just take...

JoJo's Pizza Kitchen in Brea a business with a heart...a business giving back to the community. We recently enjoyed the giving spirit of JoJo's this week at a fund-raiser for little Katie G., a five year-old Leukemia patient. The Mom's Club of Brea organized and participated in this event on Katie's behalf. A portion of the proceeds from sales that day (lunch and dinner) went to the Katie G. family. JoJo's has been supportive of many in the community. This is from their own website:"JoJo's Pizza Kitchen proudly supports the community through fund-raisers, donations and sponsorships of local schools, athletic teams and other non-profit organizations. JoJo's has helped raise thousands of dollars through food concessions at school events and fund-raisers, Concerts in the Park, sporting eve...

The market is open on Tuesdays beginning at 3:00 pm. to 7:00 pm. This is a great place for fresh produce, flowers, live plants, and specialty items. Last time (2 weeks ago) I bought some wonderful seasonings and spices from a local vendor. In addition to edibles you can find interesting and unique crafts and gift items. Entertainment is normally part of the experience. Birch Street itself is an eclectic area colorful living lofts built over unusual shops, multiple movie theaters and local eateries. As expected, numbers of active listings are rising slowly as we approaching the highly demanding season of the year in housing market. Brea Ca has 170 active homes for sale and there are 37 homes under contract. People are very skeptical of this market and many buyers are staying on the sidelines to gauge the market. Namneet Dhaliwal
