I have been dealing quite a bit these days with buyers who have wanted a little mountain getaway for years and years and never thought they could afford it. With prices and low interest rates combining to make this an excellent time to buy, it is becoming evident that these dreams can easily become reality. This cabin is a perfect example. My client is a police officer from Santa Clarita who likes to come to Big Bear to get away from the stress of his job. Big Bear always was a kind of sanctuary for him and he has wanted a little place for a long time. When he contacted me, he was unsure of what kind of cabin would be available in his price range, and whether it was worth looking into. I emailed him the listings which I felt were the best ones in his price range and set an appointment t...

Yes!  As a matter of fact we just had one!  It shook our office pretty hard and registered a magnatude of 3.6.  If you ever want to look at the seismic activity of a particular area you can go to http://www.usgs.gov/.  Once you get to their site, just click on "recent earthquakes".  It will give you updated information on a map broken down per week, per day and per hour with the magnatudes in different colors.  Here is today's information from their site regarding the earthquake in Big Bear City, CA.  It normally takes a couple minutes for them to update their information.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but Big Bear is a hard place to show real estate during a holiday weekend. To start with, the traffic gets very heavy at times and makes it difficult to get around. Usually, the traffic is pretty light and driving around much easier than most of Southern California. During big weekends, we get a ton of tourists and things kind of slow to a crawl. Since we have only one main thoroughfare, things can get tight.Secondly, there are so many folks out looking at property, many times you arrive at the home only to find another Realtor ahead of you and you have to wait until they are finished. If you have tact that is. I have, on occasion, had Realtors just bust in with their clients while I am in the process of showing a home. I don't know about you,...
