When my brother and I started our plumbing company in Sherman Oaks years ago, we wanted to tell people more about our background. We were the Jeep Cherokee twins, and appeared in several commercials for them, as well as appearing in several movies and in the television show, Providence. We enjoyed being in the spotlight, but we firmly believe that family comes first. So when we got married and started families our priorities and focus shifted. Now we spend time with our families and continue to build our plumbing business.

How to Insure Your Luxury Home It’s not just current market value that determines how your home is appraised and for how much it’s insured for. A skilled appraiser needs to consider the fine details of your home. Here’s an excerpt from a post by Roberta Murphy (thanks Roberta)… It is important for the luxury home to be insured at full replacement value, especially when fine craftsmanship and materials have been used in constructing or improving the home. Schussel said that when Chubb takes on the task of restoring the home to its original condition, they take the task very, very seriously. Restoration could involve flying plasterers in from Ireland to restore a mansion in San Diego or an estate in Connecticut. Click here to read the original article:  How to Insure Your Luxury Home

I got a call this week from someone looking to have an 11,000+ square foot, $29.9 million dollar mansion photographed for a magazine cover and profile feature story. They found my work at www.lahomephotography.com and www.gregorystorm.com and loved what they saw. We discussed their needs, I submitted my bid and I booked the job the next day. What I was surprised to find out is they weren't a referral. They had been searching high and low for the right photographers for this job and found me on the Internet. My ActiveRain and Google Maps (read my article on listing your business on Google Maps here) listing helped get me to the top of their search. I've shot many multi-million dollar homes before, but this spectacular mega-million dollar mansion is now my biggest. I had a great time sho...

by Coco Clayman-Cook Los Angeles Luxury condos have made it to the east coast in a manner of speaking. Mireya Navarro wrote an article for the New York Times entitled "Downsizing in Los Angeles: From Mansion to $47 Million Condo." The article appears inspired by Candy Spelling's recent purchase of a luxury condo, but Navarro goes on to outline all of the wonderful attributes featured by a luxury condo. Vertical expansion began in New York ages ago, but with Los Angeles comes a new level of luxury lifestyles. Luxury condos are built in small communities with restaurants, stores and services to meet a person's every need. Luxury condos also come with space for living, entertaining, servants, and guests with more leftover space than many single family homes provide. Navarro explains that c...

by Coco Candy Spelling is the latest celebrity to invest in luxury condos. Aaron Spelling's widow became famous long ago for the level of luxury she enjoyed in her 56,500 square foot French Chateau-style mansion in Beverly Hills, and now she's moving "up". Spelling's upgrade from estate living to luxury condo is just another example of how anything is possible with a luxury condo. When shopping for a luxury condo, Spelling knew she wanted a living space in a central location that would suit all her luxury needs. Her answer was to combine two luxury condos into one glamorous home. She maintained her famous wrapping room, special quarters for her grandchildren, and a master bedroom of over 4,000 square feet. She determined what she needed, and luxury condos provided the perfect answer! As...

by Coco Clayman Cook It's never easy when a marriage ends.  Not only are there emotions to untangle there are also investments, property and a life to dismantle. Real estate is often one of the hardest assets for a couple to split after their marriage has ended. Community Property laws are meant to protect us during emotional times. However, sometimes it seems as if those laws only make it tougher. Because properties are so often sold during a divorce in order to ensure an equitable division of assets, it is important for attorneys to make sure they have the most competent, capable real estate agent involved. That is where I come in. I have considerable experience buying and selling property from dissolved marriages, and I am prepared to handle any transaction in a smooth and efficient ...

Everyday we find ourselves facing another test: Can we succeed today? This isn't just a matter of succeeding at our careers, our families, or our personal goals. This is a matter of succeeding at life. You must first succeed at life before you can succeed anywhere else. Succeeding at life means believing in and taking care of yourself. Remind yourself that you can achieve anything as long as you believe you can. The test starts with you. As you face the individual challenges of the day-schedules, jobs, kids, clients, the world-repeat to yourself just how capable you are. You can handle the fast-paced schedule, the difficult client, and the challenging family as long as you remember that every morning you answered, "Yes, I will succeed today." At the end of the day, you answer your quest...

by Coco Clayman-Cook Now more than ever we see real estate agents giving in to the Buyer's market and the changing economy. More and more clients are coming to the realization that they can't make the easy sale on their house that they may have been able to four years ago, and the very practice of "flipping" has ended. As more people give in to this new and different market and seek other careers, now is the time for the dedicated real estate agents to rise to the occasion. It's important to remember the rules of gravity and the pattern of history: what goes up must come down, but what goes down will eventually rise again. As agents, it is our responsibility not to fall in the first place. Gandhi said we must be the change we want to see in the world, and this is where we must begin. We...

its 7:40 am in Beverly Hills, 90210. Its cloudy and no one at work yet. Trying to beat the traffic brings me in earlier then anyone else. Just got the chance to take a look at this weeks MLS open house guide. Gotta give it to Robert Kass he has just listed 2 properties, one of them is the infamous Fleur De Lys in Holmby Hills priced at a meager 125,000,000 and the other the house of our beloved Malibu resident who must be sick and tired of fighting the coastal comission Cher's house at 45,000,000. You can find both listings at www.robertkass.com, gotta be proud and wish this gentleman luck its must be an enormous task just to even market those , let alone sell them. I can see a few happy vendors, escrow, title and loan guy. How much would title cost on 125,000,000 sale  I wonder. On the...

Nick Antonicello, Director of Sales for Unique Homes, pointed out an interesting story to me last week in the Los Angeles Times Blog. You might have already heard about it, but I just want to put in my two cents about the whole affair.Peter Viles, Senior Producer for Real Estate at LATimes.com, wrote in his blog entry that Donald Trump, possibly the best-known real-estate developer in the world, is seeking to buy Ed McMahon's mansion to save him from foreclosure. In an even more bizarre turn of events, Mr. Trump now might be having some competition for buying Mr. McMahon's luxury home. That's according to a new blog post today by Ann Brenoff, author of the Los Angeles Times' weekly "Hot Property" feature. As Mr. Spock would say, "Fascinating."To be honest, I'm not sure what to make of thi...

A real estate agent, a real estate investor, a homeowner, a father/mother It's the best of times and it's the worst of times. Seeing a lot of very good friends fade out of the real estate world, a lot of small and great companies close their doors, a lot of agents in our offices drop out of the race and some pretty prominent companies shut their doors, it's not the easiest scenes to watch in our everyday life as realtors Real Estate Agent - I am a real estate agent, a salesperson, I represent buyers and sellers, and it is this kind of a market, where my clients actually get their money's worth, when they utilize us more than their messengers, but trust enough to turn us into their consultants. This is the market where are opinions count, where our knowledge and resources we have access ...
