I am sure some of my friends like George Souto  will look back foundly to this picture. In all fairness both of the bags were gifts one was from clearly a Yankee Fan and one was from a RedSox fan. I had it for let's just say a very long time. We had some issues ask Anna Banana Kruchten Arizona's Top Banana!  she can relate, so with that said Diane decided to get rid of both of these valuable memetoes for me and now all I have is a Picture and a Wordless Wednesday Post:)))BTW now a bad thing to have:)) compared to the real thing!!!  GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focused and goal-oriented Realtor in the Beverly Hills area who will help you achieve your Real Estate goals, please reach o...

Today, as every September 11 for the past 19 years, I reflect on when our nation was in shock as terrorists attacked our country. We all promised to never to forget 9/11 and I have since correlated this event with December 7th, 1941 when the Empire of Japan invaded Pearl Harbor. Ironically, as we are still in the grips of a Pandemic shut down that has taken many lives, impacted our economy, financial markets and of course real estate, I cannot help but see the strong parallels to nineteen years ago.  Just like with 9/11, the virus was man-made and there has been much debate if it was intentional or accidental; we will likely never get to the bottom of it in my lifetime. As a Beverly Hills Realtor, I continue to monitor the situation and do my best as always to take care of my clients as...

Well I could not help myself, there was so much discussion about the missing June Blog Posts.Today I had an easy day, just like everyone else. I was curious how many blog posts did I lose during the month of June?  Amazingly enough it is very easy to find out and you can find out too.  Just follow the two steps I outlined here below.Step One:   go to the ”Leader Board”  you will see not only where you stand, but how many points and how many blog posts you are currently being given credit for. (minus the missing June posts) Step Two:  go to your profile page and on the left side you will see your statistics and amazingly you will see how many blog posts you wrote since you have been on Active Rain. Let me use my statistics:   3,367 post written  minus (-)  it   currently shows that I hav...

Observations from a Beverly Hills Realtor: What do real estate clients expect from us?  In our over-saturated profession as Realtors - because as we well know, it is easy work! Anyone can sell a house! - how do you stand out from the competition?I’m sure we can come up with a long and varied list. My strategy is quite simple - I answer my phone; I respond to texts and emails in a fast, efficient manner; and I do not use auto responders unless I am driving. Then my phone lets the texting party know that I am driving. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the global economy in today’s environment, I find that most potential buyers’ and sellers’ want and expect a relatively quick  and straight-forward response and answer to their inquiry. They generally have done a good deal of rese...

Did you know that today is National  Pet Photo Day?? In all fairness I had no idea until I stopped in on Ron and Alexandra Seigel  post who shared with us that Kathy Streib  wrote about this yesterday. Gratefully I have been so busy for the past couple days that I have been missing out on all the fun on Active Rain. I am so glad I stopped it tonight. Now with that said I would be remiss if I did not share a photo I took two days ago. Jill one of our fearless cats decided to jump into my lap and gave me advise on what I should write to one of my clients:) Well see for yourself.   Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focused and goal-oriented Realtor in the Beverly Hills area who will help you achieve your Real Est...

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles a Book ReviewIt has been a while since I wrote a book review. It’s not that I haven’t been reading,  it’s that a book hasn’t struck  a chord in me enough that I felt compelled to write a review.  Not that I’m an expert on book reviews! So, Diane has been consistently prodding me (nagging me!) to read this book for the past three to four years.  She’s been a huge fan of Amor Towles ever since she read Rules of Civility (which I have not read).  On her birthday __ years ago, she was over the moon to attend an author luncheon hosted by one of our local indie bookstores, Diesel in Brentwood, to promote A Gentleman in Moscow. As luck would have it, she went to the luncheon solo and when she checked in, she sat at the table with Amor Towles because there wa...

Happy Independence Day, or as it is more commonly known, Happy 4th of July - the 244th year of America’s Independence. I write this Observations from a Beverly Hills Realtor's perspective with mixed emotions and trepidations. We in the U.S. celebrate our founders great visions of creating Freedom and Equality for all. I can’t help but ask in what direction are we heading?  Will we celebrate the 245th 4th of July confident that everything is heading in the right direction? I ask these questions as I witness statues of our founding fathers defaced, our history being systematically erased by politicians, activists, and the media. I am concerned and saddened because this reminds me of my days living in Communist Hungary. Those in power were removing statues of previous leaders publishing ne...

Congratulations to the Class of 2020 West Point: With Vision We Lead!I would be remiss if I did not Congratulate the Class of 2020 USMA.  On June 13th, 2020, the graduating Class of 2020 of the United States Military Academy had the most unusual graduation ceremony. Not family members, not friends and not loved ones, simply stated no visitors were present for the Ceremony. The West Point Graduation Ceremony was conducted with Social Distancing in mind. When I say unusual this pretty  much applies to all graduation classes of 2020.Every Class has a Motto, the Cadets choose in the beginning when they joint the Academy. Now with that said the Class of 2020 chose four years ago their Motto:  ‘With Vision We Lead!’ How prophetic. No one could have imagined four years ago that this is how the...

For this month’s Active Rain Challenge, we were asked to share our perspective of how to rise above the Pandemic. How can I help my  current and future business during the Pandemic? What positive changes today will improve my life and my business? These are powerful questions, neither easily answered nor handled well by many.Let’s be truthful, we have all weathered through uncertainty and challenges in both our personal and professional lives before the Pandemic; but most likely, nothing has come close to what we are all facing now with the pandemic.  (That’s a big difference, the pandemic is affecting everyone on a global scale.)  While this observation is absolutely true, the principals of leadership do not change by the size of the challenge or the length of the challenge.  From a Re...

Margaret Rome I would be remiss if I did not participate in your Active Rain Challenge. I have been on Active Rain longer than I can remember. Seriously ask Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089   when I joined! She was the first one to ever comment on my first blog post. I never forgot it, although the post was mediocre to lousy at best, she made me feel good. Here I am ten plus years later and I am on the first page of the Leaderboard go figure.Over the years I  found my voice and started actively participating and connecting with other Active Rain Members. Then as things changed such as ownership, management, the list goes on and on I saw some great friends and wonderful members fall to the wayside.I would always reach out after a while and try to find out why they left and to see if I could ent...

A Beverly Hills Realtor’s Perspective on Surviving Covid-19 Lockdown: Answer the phone, reply  to emails, respond to texts. The world, or rather its inhabitants, are faced with many uncertainties and not just real estate; every profession’s way of conducting business has been affected and changed in some way or another by this global lockdown.I am amazed (and honestly more annoyed) with all the “help” that is bombarding the average Real Estate practitioner. Here is a sampling of actual opportunities that were suggested for this Wednesday, keep in mind this is just a ONE-day sampling.10 am – 11 am: Staying Fearless in Uncertain Times.11 am -Noon: Let’s take a closer look at one of the Real Estate Technologies.Noon  to 1 pm: How to do Facebook ads to generate leads.1 pm -  2pm:  Clarifyin...

Well almost wordless Wednesday! I received a phone call from the Mayor of Beverly Hills, CA. I am confident I was not the only Realtor that received this call. Basically it was a public service message that if I want to conduct business in Bevely Hills I need to wear a Mask. Now keep in mind I have also received six new forms from the California Association of Realtors that I have to have people sign if I show properties with Social Distancing. Then to boot if I go to a Store may that be a Wine Store or a Grocery store I better have a Mask on or I will not be allowed in the store or worse case, both the store owner and I would get a $1000.00 fine for the violation. I get it...Gratefully last week one of my clients gave us two masks. So with that said Los Angeles and Beverly Hills here I ...

Here we are, I lose track of how many days we have been Sheltering in Place… so with that said it was time for me to make another Soup to fight the dreaded CV. Hence, I roasted a head of Cauliflower and there you have it, a Cream of Cauliflower Soup was in the making. Now those of you  who know me, I cannot just make an ordinary anything. I decided to add baked Garbanzo Beans for crunch and taste. Diane loved it; the bad news is now she only wants it  is baked/toasted Garbanzo Beans of any sorts.( she is right the flavors a stronger)Just to be clear I am a firm believer this soup tastes much better the next day when all the flavors have blended. The steps are easy ,bake the Cauliflower in the oven with a little olive oil  for about 15 to 20 minutes around 400 degrees. While the Cauliflower...

As we are in our homes due to Government Restrictions and normal common sense, Restaurants have closed and limited take out service is the norm. Those who are used to eating out in great Restaurants needed to make some adjustments. We have made the adjustments about six or seven years ago.  Having three cats and a dog, requires discipline and regimentation not to go out to dinner, because our pets come first. Now with that said it does not mean we do not eat quality food. I have been replicating great foods from top Chef in the Culinary world for decades.Diane has been reading up on what might help to prevent  CV and one of these was making and enjoying warm soups. Clearly my assignment was to make a good soup.Having loved Butternut squash soups I chose to make a Curried butternut squas...

Diane being stressed, nervous and concerned about the current situation with the Corona virus inspired this post. It troubles me that an intelligent and reasonable person can become so stressed about the events that are surrounding and changing our-day-to day life. I am not in any way downplaying the severity of the challenge with which we are currently faced. Rather, I am trying to put things in perspective so that  we can function as normal human beings.During the past few weeks in between very busy and productive Real Estate activity, I had the opportunity to reflect over the current situation. I have observed  that my various nearby stores  that I regularly visit have run out of water, hand sanitizers and toilet paper. I find it extremely sad and somewhat ignorant behavior from the ...
