Ralph Nader speaks about the possible closing of the government mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I tend to agree with Nader when he says that the closing of the seconday mortgage government funded entities would cause "Too many unknowns" and that those "unknowns" don't bode well for the real estate industry and will keep government representitives from voting to close their doors in Congress. Here's the CNBC.com Video:

In this market we call the real estate industry we all have seen things and situations we never dreamed of when we first started our real estate careers. Most of these real estate oddities come from foreclosures and short sales, also known as distressed properties. Heck, I've seen a fence around a home burnt to the ground while the house still stood. I've seen spray paint and graffiti inside a new home that would make a freeway overpass in gangland blush. I've seen families living in squalor, which are some of my saddest memories. I've seen appliance theft, fixture theft, door and window theft, air condition and heating unit theft, and even tile and carpet theft. But now I've come across a new real estate oddity. This oddity may not be the record, nor am I assuming that you as a reader ...

SOLERA REAL ESTATE NEWS FEBRUARY 2014 By Diana Mangan STATE WIDE REAL ESTATE NEWS “Southern California had its worst January for home sales in three years, as buyers wrangled with tight inventory, the feisty mortgage market and mounting home prices”, according to DataQuick, one of the most reliable real estate reporting companies in California. Home sales across the six-county region fell 9.9 percent in January from 2013 levels, according to San Diego-based DataQuick. Though a seasonal drop typically happens, the Southern California sales were still well below the norm. With only 14,471 sales logged, that’s 17.3 percent lower than the 17,493 average for January since 1988. “The economy is growing, but Southland home sales have fallen on a year-over-year basis for four consecutive months...

Going the Distance, GET READY FOR REAL ESTATE IN 2014!! The real estate markets in California, as with most of the country, has changed dramatically since the housing crash in 2007, 2008 and beyond. We've seen record low price drops, and we've seen record pacing price increases lately! In fact, short sales are fading fast just because many homes are worth what their homeowners actually paid! Shocking! But! But, but, BUT!!!! 2014 is right around the corner and many in the real estate industry believe the new year will bring rise to the true housing recovery! Yes, many home values have shot up already, but I believe, like many do, that the best is yet to come? So..... Are you ready? If you're selling, now is the time to find out your home value, and any other details that will pertain to ...

SOLERA REAL ESTATE NEWS By Diana Mangan STATE WIDE REAL ESTATE NEWS Buyers signed fewer contracts for homes in California last month, as higher mortgage rates hampered demand, according to the California Association of Realtors. Pending home sales in California fell 5% in August from July. The index represents contracts signed but not yet closed -- a sign of future market activity. Rising interest rates over the past several months and an expanding supply of homes have caused a slowdown in the market. “The growing supply of homes is a good sign”, according to economist Gerd-Ulf Krueger, “especially because the supply is primarily coming from homeowners rather than banks looking to unload repossessed properties. Sales of foreclosed homes continued to fall, hitting 7.1% of the resale mark...

I ran into Luigi from Super Mario Bros. at the Super Market! The wife sent me to Stater Bros. Super Market the other day. It seemed like any other day, nothin' special... UNTIL, I ran into a celebrity! And judging by the title of this blog I bet you already know who it was- Yup, Luigi, from the Nintendo games Super Mario Bros.. (OK, I didn't make the association that I ran into Luigi from Super Mario Bros. AT Stater Bros. till now). I asked him if I could take a picture and he was very nice and said 'Yes'. When I came home I told my two young boys, ages six and eight, who I had run into, and they didn't believe me! BUT, I had Proof! So I showed them the picture: Realtors in Beaumont

My business partner and wife and I have been in this crazy real estate business for years now, and you learn something new everyday, especially if you conduct your real estate business through one of the most infamous real estate crashes of modern history, maybe ever. We were discussing our careers and the real estate business as a whole one night at the dining room table during dinner. We marveled at the myriad real estate transactions we've handled and the plethora of information we've gathered along the way. We also speculated about how this information and experience could really help many confused home sellers and buyers, and everyone else wondering about the deep, dark sea of real estate information, opportunities and pitfalls. Then it came to us: "Let's start a video blog and del...

Beaumont California Home Pricing - How to Price My Beaumont Home For Sale Are you considering selling your Beaumont home but you're wondering what a good list price would be? The Beaumont real estate market is a moving target. What a Beaumont home sold for last year is different from what it could sell for now- think of Beaumont home prices like how a company's stock price fluctuates. Beaumont Home Pricing Step 1: Do your homework. There are a ton of resources online for real estate buyers and sellers like Google, Zillow, Trulia, our website at Garrigus Real Estate, etc.. Find home listings currently for sale and compare them to yours. Is the comparable Beaumont home close to yours? Is the square footage of the Beaumont listing close to yours? Is the square footage of the lot similar? A...

I love Halloween! It is to me one of the most fun holidays, and most over-looked holidays! I do whatever I can for my two young boys to enjoy Halloween because I believe it instills a sense of fun and let's all of us have a chance at taking ourselves less seriously. So it was a complete surprise and thrill to have been Booed this year! What is being Booed? We were locking up the house for bedtime a few nights ago and discovered a plastic pumpkin filled with treats and small toys for the boys, and a sign that read "You've Been Booed!" With the sign were instructions that said: 1. Enjoy your treats in this pumpkin 2. Display this sign notifying the neighborhood that you've been Booed! 3. Help keep the fun going by preparing two pumpkins with treats and toys and a copy of this sign and ins...

The Government's Closed For Business... I Knew It Would Affect Real Estate! We work in the real estate business for Coldwell Banker Beaumont CA, serving home and real estate sellers in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California. When the Government closed for business yesterday I knew in some way, so form, it would affect real estate and my business. It only took a day to manifest. I sent one of my clients in to their nearest Social Security Office to obtain documents needed for the sale of their property. And low and behold, only one employee was stationed at the front desk for the sole purpose of turning people away. All computers were powered down and not a lick of government work was to be had. No, my client did not obtain the documentation needed. I hope I can find a way aro...
