Boy this past weekend was a very busy one for me.  On Saturday, I hosted two Open Houses in Crescent City California.  In the morning I was hosting our new listing at 135 Dream Street, Crescent City, CA.  It is a newer 4 bedroom, 2 bath home in a newer neighborhood.  I had a few people drive by and slow down to look at the house and a few families came in for a walk through.  The other house I hosted was 210 Joaquin Street in Crescent City. Saturday, June 14, 2008 1:00 PM  I just came back from the Oyster Festival in Arcata, which coincides with the local farmer's market today in the Plaza.  There were lots of people and lots of booths featuring all sorts of foods from Chinese food, Lao/Thai food, Cambodian food, African food and of course, dozens of booths featuring all sorts of ways to cook oyster and beer booths as well.  The Oyster Festival took place in the plaza itself, so the farmer's market this week got moved a block west of the Arcata Plaza.  We walked the whole length of the entire plaza and the farmer's market area as well.  A local band was playing some swing and big band music in the center of the plaza and there were lots of people eating and setting on the grass in and around the plaza.   The Oyster Festiva... 06/14/2008

Friday night my family and I decided to check out the new Rita's Mexican Restaurant in Arcata, CA.  Rita's has always been know for great Mexican food, tequila and margaritas in all of Humboldt County from Eureka to Arcata.  Rita's opened the Arcata location earlier this week, with no advertising, and when we got there, we could not believe it because the place was jammed pack with people waiting in line out the door!  When we got inside, we had to wait a few minutes in the waiting lounge.   The decor was very nice inside the restaurant and there were people all over having a good time eating, talking, and drinking.  We were able to sit down and have our own table with fancy Mexican art and decorations.  There were pictures of local artists along the walls and an art piece with running ... 04/20/2008

Last night I attended the Grand Opening of my clients Art Gallery Opening in Arcata, CA.  I drove through the Arcata PLaza and noticed that all the local merchants around the plaza had their holiday decorations up and the trees and shrubery inside and around the plaza were all decorated with Christmas Lights.  It was very magical to drive through and very welcoming.  If you have a chance, take a drive yourself through the Arcata Plaza in Arcata, CA and enjoy the holiday fun and local shopping.  Happy Holidays!! from Lucky 12/02/2007

This morning I took my mother to the local Farmer's Market in Arcata, CA.  There were at least 30 plus vendors with booths around the Arcata Plaza where the farmer's market is held every Saturday from 9am-1pm between the months of May through November.  The Arcata Plaza is on G and 8th Street in Arcata.  There were many various locally grown vegetables, herbs, hand made products, clothing and eatables.  Most everything is organically grown.  We were attracted to the various mushrooms and vegetables so my mother bought some for our stir fry for tonight's dinner.  For more information go to http://www.localharvest.org/farmers-markets/M4521 11/03/2007
