Please do not lease our future to greaddy Banker's Congress buddies ! They can always borrow money via " special client packages " ,but most of us will not be able to do so ever again at resonable interest rate !   Congress Eyes Eliminating Fannie and Freddie   Congress will soon be debating possible changes to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government sponsored enterprises (GSEs) that purchase or guarantee mortgage-backed securities on the secondary mortgage market. Proposals for “reform” include possible legislation to phase out and eventually eliminate Fannie and Freddie altogether.   Elimination of the GSEs, which purchased or securitized two out of every three loans written in 2010, would have grave consequences for home buyers and sellers, the real estate market and the rest of ...

A drop in the bucket will not kill the bottom line The little things do make a big difference. I went to get water filled for the gallons in my home today. As I was filling the gallon with water, there was a tiny amount of water that spilled over the spout of the gallon. To the owner's horror, he jumped up and started an incantation. It was as though something sinful had happened. He was startled and said that not an inkling of water should be wasted. To my bewilderment, I thought he was insane. Just a tiny drop and thinks the sky is falling. Oh me oh my. At this point, I wondered if he treated every one of his customers the same way when they spilled an ounce of water. I realized one thing from this incidence. Water costs $0.25 per gallon. If a small amount of water is loss, that could...

Existing-home sales in the West jumped 19.9 percent in the fourth quarter to a level of 1.17 million but are 14.2 percent below the cyclical peak in the fourth quarter of 2009. Home sales rebounded in 49 states during the fourth quarter with 78 markets – just over half of the available metropolitan areas – experiencing price gains from a year ago, while most of the rest saw price weakness, according to the latest survey by the National Association of REALTORS®.... There are many things to do in Arcadia, California without spending tons of money, I experienced one of them a couple of weeks ago.  In addition to my real estate and loan business I am a reporter for Crown City News, a local news show.  I thoroughly enjoy reporting hard news and feature stories. This feature story was about the annual Festival of Bands held in Arcadia, California on November 20th.  It was a cold and rainy Saturday morning.  I bundled up my daughter, packed all the equipment and away we went, we had a great time!  Over 40 of the most talented young people marched down Baldwin Avenue strutting all the way.  You would have thought they were taught in the rain.  They tossed their flags into the air, blew into those instruments and banged on their drums like it was Madigras...

Have you had your house on the market for way too long and you just can't figure out why it's NOT selling?   There is a combination of key factors that come into play when SELLING a home.   REPRESENTATION- Representation is key when deciding to put your home on the market.  Choose a Real Estate agent and company that is experienced in selling homes in your market. An agent should know the community well, should know of the homes value and should always have your best interest at heart.  Interview a few agents to find the right fit for you.  Make sure that your agent will be thorough in the marketing of your property! PRICE- The way a home is priced will definitely determine the way a house will attract buyers.  Is the house priced at fair market value and with a competitive list price ...

Last week, I was asked to do a home staging bid on a home in Arcadia, CA, that was located in an area of Arcadia known for its free roaming peacocks, near the LA County Arboretum. I stage many homes in Arcadia and am often asked about feng shui and peacocks. The peacock is the official city bird of Arcadia and a picure of a peacock is displayed on street signs and the official city seal. It's not unusual to see peacocks and peahens grazing in front yards and wandering the streets of Arcadia, particularly near the LA Arboretum. Peacocks were first brought from India to Arcadia at the beginning of the 20th century by "Lucky" Baldwin, an early landholder in Arcadia, and founder of the Santa Anita Park Racetrack. Peacocks & Feng Shui: I think one of the many reasons (besides being lovely to...

The past few weeks have been super busy, with most (not all) of our home staging projects located in Arcadia. We are very fortunate to have a loyal following among many of the top Arcadia real estate agents and Arcadia Realtors. Moving Mountains Design gets hired to stage many of the new construction Arcadia homes and luxury homes in Arcadia, but lately we have been staging a lot of homes for real estate investors who have started investing in Arcadia real estate again. This past week we were hired to stage this beautifully remodeled Arcadia home. I really enjoy working with this listing agent. He and his wife are real go-getters and part of his marketing package is to offer home staging on some of his listings (now you see why I like working with him:o) As you can see, I added red and ...
