    I Do A Good Job Of Controlling Dust, But I Think This Is Cool   As a contractor in the Sacramento Area, one of the biggest complaints that we here from those looking to do a home improvement is the dust that it creates. There isn't much that can be done to make the project dust free, that's the nature of the job. Whenever materials are cut, sanded, or demolished – dust is bound to happen. The secret is to control where that dust travels. This has always been something that I watch out for. My wife has monitored my home projects for decades; I've learned! So I know that dust can easier become a problem outside of the construction zone. There are products out there that can help. I just haven't tried many of them yet.     You Rotten Piece Of Siding     Just when I thought I had a handle on the dry rot in the siding of this Antelope, CA home, another section of siding looks rotted. Of course that can happen in areas where there is moisture that gets behind the trim boards and just sits in between the two wooden materials. Over time the wood will decay, it just does. So if the entire home is lacking proper protection of this sort of thing happening, you can expect that more will be revealed later on. The alternative would be to take those steps to insure that the moisture doesn’t get to these areas where the decay will happen. In a conversation this morning with my team member, we discussed a recent short sale transaction that closed last week. It was a real struggle with 2 loans, a charge-off sold to a collection agency, a judgment against the seller, not to mention I had to sell the home three times. But it's the attention to detail that made this transaction close. Updating your current bathroom does not have to cost a lot, and it can be done quickly too. Having these improvements done to your home doesn’t guarantee that it will last forever.
