Get building Evergreen & Murray-Clarke - now Published: December 16, 2008 6:00 PM With much interest I read Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini's inaugural address after the council swearing-in ceremony on Dec. 2. Once again, the mayor should be applauded for reminding his senior government counterparts that the overdue Murray-Clarke Connector and Evergreen Line infrastructure construction projects both remain at the top of the priority list for Port Moody citizens and our neighbours. We've had an overwhelming hotchpotch of delays imposed on us by Translink, Metro Vancouver's Liveable Region Strategy, provincial and federal government funding uncertainties, changes in the rapid transit technology from light rail to SkyTrain, and debates about a north vs. a south route for the Evergreen Line....

However, in the future, it's expected more people will live their entire life in multi-family buildings and, fortunately, the market is already meeting this demand by increasing the supply. For exam...

Congratulations to Mayor Trasolini and Council. TransLink doubles funding allocation and approves Murray-Clarke Connector December 12, 2007 The city's campaign to explain the urgent need for the twice-delayed Murray Clarke Connector paid off. The campaign included a Council demonstration to expose what would happen if the project was delayed again. At its December 12, 2007 meeting, TransLink's outgoing Board of Directors approved the allocation of up to $50 million for the design and construction of the much-needed Murray Clarke Connector. Motivated by the urgency of the outgoing TransLink Board's last meeting, two dozen people appeared to speak in support of the project to Board Directors assembled at Richmond City Hall.  After the positive vote, Mayor Joe Trasolini said: "As a Directo...
