By Bruce Walkinshaw - Penticton Western NewsPublished: December 02, 2010 6:00 PM Updated: December 02, 2010 9:54 PM A soft real estate market has forced Penticton council to reconsider its valuing of Munson Mountain land. Council approved reducing the price of two city-owned lots at 1125 and 1275 Munson Ave. by $50,000 each at a Nov. 12 in-camera meeting. Councillors Garry Litke and Dan Albas voted against the move.   The Kitchen sells the home  - Summerland, Penticton, Okanagan BC Real Estate Walking into a tired and outdated kitchen can bring the anyone’s mood down. But when the budget dosen’t permit an expensive remodel there are a few easy ways to update and spruce up your kitchen without having to make a major investment. Canada Raises Policy Rate, First in G-7 After Global Recession By Greg Quinn June 1 (Bloomberg) -- The Bank of Canada raised its key interest rate from a record low today, the first Group of Seven country to do so since last year’s global recession, and said further moves will be “weighed carefully” against future growth in Canada and elsewhere. The target rate on overnight loans between commercial banks rose to 0.5 percent from 0.25 percent, as predicted by 25 of 27 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. It was Mark Carney’s first increase as governor and the bank’s first since July 2007. “Given the considerable uncertainty surrounding the outlook, any further reduction of monetary stimulus would have to be weighed carefully against domestic and global economic developments,” the Otta...

Debt Management by Richard Batke, Mortgage Broker in Penticton and Summerland BC Managing your debt is more important now than ever!  At best, consumer debt limits your real estate purchasing power and reduces your cash flow, and at worst can cost you your home and force you into bankruptcy. Others have tried to qualify for a mortgage, having great income, however, the consumer debt and car loan payments halted their dream until they make the necessary changes in their debt management. Times have changed! 1. We can no longer assume that our h...
