It first served as a rural agricultural area supplying nearby markets. Later, it served as an important transportation corridor between Vancouver, Coquitlam and New Westminster. Burnaby Real Estate has seen an increase in home, condo and townhouse prices over the last few years. Working in the Burnaby Realty market has given me the skill and knowledge to help my clients when purchasing their first house, condominium or townhouse. With such ...

(Twiques: The Art of Home Comfort)
Phew!  What a busy day!  We just completed the decoration of two homes involved in the Holiday Home Tour setting out from Burnaby's Deer Lake this Sunday, November 23rd at 10:00.  We had a great time decorating two of the twelve homes involved in this year's tour in support of Ovarian Cancer Research.  In home number one we built on a red and white theme to complement the homeowner's neutral creamy white carpet and sofas.  In home number two we went a bit more classical with a cream, gold and burgundy theme.  Both homes turned out very well and both homeowners were thrilled.  If you get a chance to visit the homes this weekend and/or need more info regarding tickets you can either call Sacha Lehto at 604-675-8242 or slehto@bccancer.bc.ca or go online at http://www.bccancerfoundation.com...

See-forever views of mountain, ocean and city make this a digital-snapshot mecca! But that's just the staring point for 1,423 acres of carefully conserved west-coast nature comprised mainly of forested slopes radiating down from the mountaintop Simon Fraser University.    First logged in 1903, Burnaby Mountain became a popular hiking area in the 1920s. The city dedicated the area for park and recreation use in 1957. Simon Fraser University opened its doors in the mid-1960s; the university transferred 820 acres of its land to Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area in 1995. As a young child I used to come here with my parents and brother and we used to roll out a blanket on the green hillside and set up base camp from where we picnicked, napped, tossed frisbees and flew kites.....And if you'r...

On Tuesday, my daughter Rachel and I went back to my Alma Mater, Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C.  Rachel had just made the decision that that was her first choice for College next year, so we packed a lunch and went to explore! It was my first time back after I'd graduated 27 year ago, with a  Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science...  27 years ago I had plans of being a lawyer...........I specialized in International Relations and Comparative Studies for Soviet and Eastern European Politics........In those days Simon Fraser was a hotbed of political activity and such an exciting time to be getting an education!                                        But, like for many of us........life doesn't always take us down the paths we think it will...........instead I got married...

A new daycare has opened close to the City in the Park area, making for a third choice for parents.  In-Joy Montessori opened in March 2007 and already has close to a full complement of 2.5 to 6 year olds.  The daycare is opened 730am to 530pm and offers a standard Montessori curriculum.  Mandarin, French and Music lessons will be added shortly once the daycare gets into full swing.

City in the Park is located in South Burbaby.  The neighborhood consists of seven high-end condo towers and a formal European garden.  Located near the Edmonds SkyTrain station and home to a Choices market, the area also contains Byrne Creek Park to the north, two daycares and a new elementary school (openeded September 2005) to the south.  The school is adjacent to Taylor Park, also brand new, complete with playground facilities, mountain bike trail, basketball courts, street hockey ring, and zip line.
