One of my family's favorite getaways in the wintertime is Yuma, Arizona. We don't live there full-time, but its a great place to visit because of its various attractions. One of our loved activities is driving our buggy along the many canals in the area. The canals run through many crops and fields and usually are banked by a dirt road.    The other day I took my 5 year old granddaughter shopping for Christmas. The goal was she would buy gifts for her family and not be focused on self.  I thought this task was going to take hours, hours, and hours!  She wouldn’t know what to buy,  she would want to keep running back to the girl section and look for Barbie’s, Pink Lego’s, anything pink, girlie, and for her, but she proved me wrong. We have a vacation home we visit in the winter months in Yuma, Arizona. We love it out there! The home is located in the Foothills community, where access to the desert washes and other off-road riding is immediate. In the summer months we lock up the house and secure it because we won't be there for a while. But every year when we go back, we see streams coming from the ceiling! They first started off as short cones, but if they are given the opportunity they will get longer and longer. Our first call.... the exterminator. Why? I love the business of real estate. The picture below is of a new community entrace sign that highlights (at least for me) the differences in real estate by market and area. I'm a Beaumont real estate agent that lives and works in Southern California, but I visit and vacation frequently in the Yuma, Arizona area, specifically the Foothills part of Yuma, which has a lot of sprawling desert and hills, canals, etc.. Its a great place if you like riding in the dirt and sand but don't necessarily want to go camping. Near our vacation house there's a new community that has started construction again.
