Good Enough Mine in Tombstone, AZ Had good fun this weekend on a day trip from Tucson, AZ to historic Tombstone, AZ.  We're always looking for things to do near Tucson, AZ. It was Helldorado Days in Tombstone and we enjoyed the Parade on Sunday, a great barbecue pork sandwich at the Longhorn Restaurant, great shopping, and the various re-enactment pieces played throughout the day.   Our visiting student from France got herself a cowboy hat - I proclaimed her a true American now! One of the tours we participated in was the Good Enough Mine Tour.  It actually came to my attention by way of a Groupon, and ended up a nice way to spend an hour.  First of all, it was a comfortable 65 degree temperature - nice escape from the 90's above! Secondly, our tour guide knew his stuff and answered que...

William Shakespeare may have said "To be, or not to be: that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer. The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them?" But for those selling a home in our current market, the real question should be "To Sell or not to Sell".It's a question many homeowners ask themselves when they contemplate selling a home. Many find the current real estate market scary and confusing. New and existing home sales are down across the country. This combined with a large listing inventory makes it a "Buyers' Market", which isn't what most home sellers want to hear. Choosing the right time to sell can have an enormous effect on the price you get for your home. These are all things to consider ...

There is a lot of work involved in our real estate professions and simply living with the hectic pace of our lives. We are usually beyond busy, we are continually in a state of overdrive. While it is necessary that we pay attention to work, we need to pay attention to balancing life. I've learned in the past that it's important to take a moment and appreciate the good things and the people in our lives. It is important to take a moment for yourself. It is important to schedule downtime. The consequences of no down time are serious, leading to irritability, fatigue, anxiety, depression and burn out. I'd like to focus on the joys of life in a pay-it-forward type of Blog. Please post a few things you are thankful for! I applaud you for taking a moment to read this blog post and I appreciat...

It is a good time to buy...... however:If you are a house flipper or you are unrealistic about how fast your home will appreciate, or if you are not intending to keep the home for at least two yearsit is a bad time to buy. There is not one agent out there that can accurately predict what the market is going to do. If we could predict it, we would all be rich!!!!!! It may very well go down a little more....... but it will come back. I have heard comments of people blaming an agent because their home went down in value or they can no longer afford their payments. If you bought a home that was more than you could afford, it is not the fault of your agent.  We do not force anyone to buy a home. We do not approve the loan.We do not appraise the home. We do not have a crystal ball nor are we ...

Tombstone is in Southern Arizona in Cochise County. Tombstone is the perfect place to stay and learn about the old west.I like to think of myself as a bit of a history buff. If you like old westerns and ever seen the movie "Tombstone", you have to make a trip to Tombstone, Arizona. Tombstone is about 20 minutes from Sierra Vista were I live and about an hour and a half south of Tucson. While it has become somewhat touristy, it is less so than many of the other western towns where history was made. Tombstone has a very famous history with the gunfight at the OK Corral between the Earps and the Clantons (Wyatt, Morgan and Virgil Earp along with Billy Clanton and Frank and Tom McLowery) in 1881. But the town began when a man named Ed Schieffelin came to Camp Huachuca with soldiers and left...

Tombstone, Arizona Tombstone is probably the most famous mining town in America. In the summer of 1877 prospector Ed Schieffelin was working the hills east of the San Pedro River in the southeast portion of the Arizona Territory, when he came across a vein of very rich silver ore in a high plateau called Goose Flats. When Schieffelin filed his mining claim, he named it the "Tombstone" in honor of the irony of the situation. He had told a soldier that he was out collecting rocks, and been told that the only type of rock he was likely to find prospecting among the waterless hills and warring Apaches of the area, would be his tombstone.Tombstone town was founded in 1879, taking its name from the mining claim, and soon became a boomtown. Fueled by mine wealth, Tombstone was a city of 1000 b...
