Condominiums in Downtown Prescott are hard to come by this year. Prices are great and they are selling faster than we can write offers. Downtown Prescott is always alive with activities and people want to be part of the action. Weather it is easy access to a great dinner, coffee and people watching, art shows on the square, music festivals, or cooling off under the century old Cottonwoods and Elms, a downtown condo is a treasure. With a downtown condo your worries about parking and crowds disappears. The two main condominium complexes that people think of when they think of "downtown Prescott" are Granite Creek Condominiums and Forest Hylands. Both are located about a mile from the downtown square. Granite Creek Condominiums are currently selling in the $74,000 to $79,000 range. They of...

Justice Robert's Supreme Court (SCOTUS) Decision Dooms Obama Presidency Inbox x During the debates over ObamaCare, the President and Democrats strained themselves to argue that the individual mandate wasn't a tax. Obama himself had campaigned on a promise to never raise taxes on any families earning less than $250,000 a year. Today, the Court called the mandate for what it is...a tax. In doing so, it acknowledged that, not only did Obama break his campaign promise, but he and his leftist allies have ushered in the largest tax hike in history. They will go with that record into the voting booth in November.  From a nakedly partisan viewpoint, today's ruling is the best case scenario for the GOP. ObamaCare is still deeply unpopular and now the only way to undo it is to sweep Obama and do...

My good friends, Quang Nguyen and Dr. Terry Lovell, who live in the Prescott area, produced this video today. Dr. Lovell is known here in Prescott as our "Professor of Freedom." Listen to this video and you can see why. In this video, Dr. Lovel mentions a quote from one of the greatest US Marine Corps veterans, Chesty Puller.  In a battle situation where he was surrounded, outnumbered, outgunned and cut off and didn't have the higher ground. . . Puller responded to his command structure: "We got the enemy just where we want 'em." Quang Nguyen: "Communism will lead a great person to accomplish mediocrity. Freedom will lead a mediocre person to accomplish great things." Hear what Quang had to say as he thanks Veterans for their service. His speech has "gone viral" on the internet and his ...

I need a little technical help here. I notice that there are several groups into which I sometimes post that do not show an HTML edit option. The area in which I live has Piñon Pine trees. The first "n" in Piñon needs a special "n" character with a tilde over it. I can make this happen by inserting a special character as "ñ" when I have an HTML option, but not when that option is missing. I can make it work when I write a draft post in html at some stage then put it into the visual mode and cut and paste it into my new post where there is no HTML capability. Is there an easier way?

Last week, as I was returning from showing property near Seligman and before returning to my home in Prescott, I passed by a herd of Pronghorn Antelopes. Up until this time, I had only seen full-grown Pronghorn Antelope in Yavapai County. After seeing this, I conclude that Pronghorn Antelope appear to remain in families. There are several herds of Pronghorn near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Seligman, Arizona. I see them on almost every trip from Prescott to Chino Valley and when I go to the area around Long Meadow Ranch north of Prescott. These pictures were taken using my Droid X cell phone. I did not have time to get out my good camera. It was a frustrating experience because I am not skillful in using the Droid camera. I learned something else:  When the image is zoome...

I am working on listing a really cute cabin but it will be a challenge.  It sits on a little over 60 acres of mostly usable land. Here is a photo of the cabin.  This is a follow-up to give the current status of this challenge. Here is a link to the original post.   First challenge: The cabin is a shell and is totally unfinished on the inside. As the exterior was being completed, the outside was not sealed. The home has sat unfinished for around five years. Second Challenge:  The cabin straddles the property line between two parcels. Fortunately, the seller owns both parcels. Third challenge:  The two parcels are in different subdivisions, each with its own homeowner's association. Because of the different homeowner's associations, I am not sure if the two parcels can be combined. I plan...

I had one of the most wonderful experiences last week which confirms that remaining an objective and professional Prescott Realtor in the face of challenging situations is always the way to go. Last year I had energetic 60-something Buyers looking for a smaller home for sale in Prescott, AZ. There was a bungalow  walking distance to the Courthouse Square that captured my eye, yet it was a bit out of their price range and I decided not to show to them.  Unbeknownst to me, they had been pondering it, but for the same reason did not ask to view it.  When the price dropped into their range we quickly viewed it and prepared to make an offer.  I called the listing agent who has been in the business here in Prescott for a long time.  Her response to my statement that my Buyers would be making ...
