Horseshoe Barbecue Diner in Marana, AZ I was out showing a cute little property late last week and brought my husband along (I always bring him to a vacant listing in the evening) so that we could check out a little restaurant nearby that recently opened. Horseshoe Barbecue Diner is located just south of the intersection of Picture Rocks and Sandario...about 5 minutes from Marana High School. We were there on a Monday night, and it was pretty quiet.  While we were there a couple of takeout orders went, and three customers came in. This Labor Day Weekend Long Realty Dove Mountain Adopted a Highway! Starting out about 6:30, I for one was very glad the sky looked like this.  My fervent wish was that the cloud cover would stay. Current temp was 77 degrees and humid, with an expected high of 92 for our Saturday morning cleanup project along Tangerine Road in Dove Mountain, Marana, AZ.   We were all set to go in our safety gear.  Long sleeved shirts...well mostly, flashy vests, hats, sun glasses, sun lotion, water, heavy shoes and pickers!   The job was to scour the roadsides for trash along a 1 mile stretch of highway, with a commitment to do so four times a year.  Long Realty Dove Mountain is responsible for the 2 mile stretch between Twin Peaks/Dove Mountain Blvd, and Thornydale along Tangerine Road. Gladden Farms and Marana Town Council Meetings Yesterday evening I had the pleasure to attend "A Community Conversation" at the Marana Municipal Complex in downtown Marana. There were 24 folks present in all, and it was surprising to find that of those, 7 were either active or retired police personnel! The meeting was geared towards the homeowners of Gladden Farms, and was informational regarding the Marana Heritage River park and the Marana Downtown Roadway Realignment projects.  You can read more on the projects on the provided links. Are Summer Sales Burning Up in Gladden Farms, Marana, AZ? I was curious to see if our "warm" summer temperatures affect sales in Gladden Farms, Marana, AZ, so I did a little trend research.  I ran the months April through September to see if there was a visible difference in stats. Here's what I found:     April May June July August September 2009 14 5 14 8 6 8 2010 9 9 11 10 9 11 2011 10 14 15 9 9 14 2012 14 7 13 7 10 10 2013 13 9 7       Totals 47 35 53 34 34 43                             At first glance I didn't think it was that big a difference, but in adding the overall totals...you can see the numbers begin to change. Gladden Farms Market Update:  Where Have All The Houses Gone!? It wasn’t very long ago when I was blogging about 40-50 properties for sale and the ever-dropping square foot value of Gladden Farms. Not so today.  Not so this year….
