Saguaro Springs (Marana, AZ)

About a year ago I read the news stories and shared the information regarding what was going on with Saguaro Bloom (Saguaro Springs) Near Continental Ranch Marana. This area is just 20 minutes or so north of Tucson City Center along the 1-10 corridor that slashes through Marana, Tucson, South Tucson and Vail, AZ.  With only one freeway through town, proximity and commute times can be greatly affected.  Finding your new home with easy access to Tucson amenities can be very important. The area has sat empty for many years now (Since 2005) and callers are anxiously awaiting a start build date. I've been in touch with the Scottsdale-based development company, and originally construction was slated before the end of 2012.  All they will tell me at this point is that it hasn't begun yet.  (Ha...

Saguaro Bloom Replaces Saguaro Springs in West Marana You may know the empty subdivision as Saguaro Springs, or you may have read the Tucson Citizen and know it's now called Saguaro Bloom, but no matter what you call it, residents and travelers west of Marana know it's a barren square mile enclosed by block walls, infrastructure, and a tumbleweed or two... KB homes tore down their model home sites and the place was fenced off - sort of a lonely reminder of the real estate recession here in Tucson. But things are picking up.  A Scottsdale based development company has taken over, an...

Word has it that the development known as Saguaro Springs, a 2,500 home development in Marana, AZ (near Tucson) may have tanked, and will revert to the original sellers for the original sales price of $30,000,000., resulting in a loss of approximately $70,000,000 for a national developer who has invested that amount in roads and infrastructure.               Situated to the north of West Twin Peaks Rd in Marana, and west of Interstate 10, the project is an anchor of Marana's spectacular growth.  The setback may hold up the planned construction of the Twin Peaks interchange at I-10, the cost of which will be paid not by the federal government, but by private development companies.  It's unclear what the effect may be on the yet-to-be-built Marana Spectrum, a lifestyle mall approved by th...
