Gilbert has seen a slow down in the housing market and sales prices decline over the last several months. There has been stiff competition from builders which is hurting the resale market. Builders are offering large incentives which is putting price pressure on the resale market in addition to the increasing inventory levels. Homes prices in Gilbert have depreciated 13% from 2006 to 2007. Gilbert's resale inventory level is continuing to see a slight decrease and is currently at 2,300 active listings in which the average days has also decreased to 115 days. The good news for Gilbert - The median sales price is $265,000, down from $327,000 which is great news for buyer's affordability. There are a lot of opportunites for buyer's out there right now. In a previous post I wrote about all the benefits of buying a vacation or second home in Gilbert Arizona, a beautiful suburb of Phoenix, AZ.  In this post I will introduce you to specific communities that fit the vacation or second home nicely here in Gilbert. Gilbert Arizona is experiencing a flood of second home buyers, and for very good reason.  This post will discuss the benefits of owning a second home in Gilbert, AZ and another post will discuss some specific communities that work well for vacation homes and second homes.
