Walter Hunt was born in Martinsburg, New York back in 1796. I could not find anything about his early childhood, schooling, parents and so on however, what I can tell you is the rest of the story. He was a prolific inventor, most of his inventions were never patented. What say let’s start out with the lockstitch sewing machine, the safety pin, a flax spinner knife sharpener, the streetcar bell, a hard-coal burning stove...

Ancient Greeks and Romans were the first to document it from observations from snakebite victims. Then in the 17th century Christopher Wren used goose quills. Around 1660 J.D. Major and J.S. Elsholtz of Berlin were the first to test it on humans. But let us discuss what most consider to be the person who is credited with the invention of the first true hypodermic syringe. In 1853 he used a true syringe and a hollow needle taking his encounter with a bee sting as his model. He used his invention exclusively to administer morphia and for the preparation of opium. For his work, he was elected President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1858. I almost...
