We had another scorcher of a day in Alabama. We need some rain! My plants look sunburned, and are all dried up. We are in a huge drought. There is not any rain in the forecast.

Looking for somewhere to fishing at? Goose Pond Colony would be the place to go. It is rated one of the best fishing holes in the South for bass, crappie and catfish. There is so much to do here...boating,fishing,camping, walking trails, swimming pool, golfing. On the 4th of July every year they have a huge fireworks show on the water, and plenty of music. It is located on the Tennesse River(or Lake Guntersville).

Scottsboro, AL will be getting a 10 screen movie theater 24,000 square foot building and construction will begin in the next 30-45 days. This is big news for us!!! We have a small movie theater right now that is 2 screens, the theater is old and has been there ever since I can remember. This is big for Scottsboro. I am excited about this, our area is gradually growing. We just need more jobs. Most people that live in Scottsboro work in Huntsville, Chattonooga, Georgia, etc. We have alot of big buildings setting empty. Scottsboro is trying to get more jobs.

Good afternoon everyone. There's no doubt that you have heard about the current "Crisis" in the mortgage market. So that you'll be better informed, I've summarized some of the information passed to me from a class I attended today. The problem began when delinquencies for subprime mortgages began to increase over the last several months, and real estate values began to drop in some markets. The majority of all mortgage loans are sold after they are originated and placed into mortgage backed securities.  The securities are "stripped" and resold into CMO's (collateralized mortgage obligations). This is good as it puts liquidity in the market which allows lenders all over to offer loans at low rates and good terms for the borrower that they would not otherwise be able to offer. It has been really hot and dry in Alabama. We are in a huge drought. We have no burn bans, and shortages of water everywhere. Alot of the wells are going dry, and smell like sulphur. Hopefully soon we will get some rain soon. Alot of trees are dying. There have been several reports of deaths from heat exhaustion. Some of the churches are opening up during the day for people to come there that don't have air conditioning or their air is not working properly. I would like to say Thanks to all of the people that are able to help out in this drought period.
