This is our booth for the St. Clair Association of Realtors at our Annual Relay for Life Fundraiser in Pell City, Alabama. We have had a few of our Realtors affected by cancer and this cause is very dear to many of our hearts. Those involved have had family issues of cancer and this is one way we can show our support and remembrance there also.  We raise thousands of dollars each year by hosting 2 cookouts in our county at each of the Courthouses.   With the heat wave that we have been experiencing, it has taken its toll on some of the area farmers.  When we are looking to purchase produce, we need to remember to support our local farmers. A great place to purchase some exceptional produce is at Daryl Copeland's produce stand, located at the corner of 231 north and Cliff Springs Road, about 7 miles north of Ashville in St. Clair County.  His prices are great, especially if you are looking to purchase in bulk to do some canning or freezing.  Remember these guys are our neighbors and work hard to provide quality vegetables at an affordable price.   07/18/2010

  You don't know what you missed if you didn't stop by the Pell City Farmers Market today.  The produce is fresh and grown locally.  Today the peaches won my heart along with the Silver Queen corn.  Other great choices were cantaloupe, beautiful green peppers, eggplant, local honey plus much more.  Let's support our local farmers.   I had the most enjoyable day spending time at a family BBQ with a friend that I haven't seen in a long time.  As I was winding down Pine Mountain on my way home,  I saw this amazing view of St Clair County.  I pulled the car over and got out to spend a moment taking it all in and realized at that moment how fortunate we are to live in this wonderful country.   We are truly blessed to live in the land of the free. 07/04/2010

Excitement is in the air for all ages anticipating the wonderful display of fireworks that are going to take place at Lakeside Park in Pell City at sunset on Sunday, July 4, 2010.  After a fun filled day, enjoying the first of several parties I am attending with friends on this long holiday weekend, I drove past this beautiful location that I stopped at to savor the moment.  While I was doing this, I reflected back on the reason why our great nation was celebrating this holiday. Only about a 45 minute drive from Pell City you will find the most amazing gardens you have ever visited.  Birmingham Botanical Gardens carries the title of the States largest living museum with more than 10,000 plants.  We spent the day enjoying the area gardens on the 67.5 tract of land.  You can get lost in the beauty of the 25 or more area gardens and all of the outdoor sculptures.  If you want to hike the miles of pathways, you will be presently surprised at what you will find around every corner. What I found the most interesting was the horticulture library with books on just about anything to do with horticulture that you could ever want.
