Local vendors will offer some great southern fare and will also be selling jewelry, crafts, antiques, and clothing. Inflatables and horse rides will keep the children entertained throughout the day. Admission is free to attend and vendor booths may be purchased for $35. The proceeds provide scholarships, and help fund local nursing home projects. Professional Rodeo returns to Marion, Alabama for the 15th Annual Marion Rodeo taking place June 11-12, 2010. This rodeo will be sanctioned by the Professional Cowboy Association, with the stock being provided by 3R Rodeo Company from Jemison, Alabama. Activities for children (8 years and younger) begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, and the main event kicks off at 7:30 pm. The proceeds of this event will honor the memory of long-time resident of Perry County, John Wayne Friday who passed away in 2009. Come join the fun and the fierce competition at the 15th Annual Marion Rodeo. The event will be held at the rodeo complex on Highway 14.

Marion, Alabama is celebrating the Muckle's Ridge Festival this weekend, April 23-24. Live music, tasty food, an arts and craft show, and hot air balloon rides are yours to enjoy this weekend in Marion, Alabama. Muckle's Ridge, which is now known as the city of Marion, was one of the first towns settled in the area.
