I work with a lot of flight school students, and newly assigned instructor pilots, some decide to buy town homes or garden homes, as most have pools and yard service included. Not a lot of free time during flight school. Then when they leave they either sell it or hang on to it as a rental investment. When we find the right home for you it still takes about approx 30 days to close. Sometimes this can go a little bit faster if you are already pre qualified for your loan amount. Some people come here a month early on leave and find the home do the paperwork and go on leave while they are waiting to close. Also the military can authorized a 10 day house hunting for your PCS move but you would have to get that approved from your present duty station. Need to ask for it on your DA 31 leave f...

The 2009 Basic Allowance for Housing payment rates are now available. Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is based on geographic duty location, pay grade, and dependency status. BAH provides uniformed service members accurate and equitable housing compensation based on housing costs in local civilian housing markets, and is payable when government quarters are not provided. Since 2007 the BAH rates are now following the cost increases of the local rental housing markets. Although BAH rates will generally either remain stable or increase, there may be some areas that actually see a decrease in BAH rates. Inaugural Rental Market Inaugural Rental Market Has ‘Gone Bust' Immediately following Barack Obama's victory on Election Day, word spread that visitors to Washington for inauguration week were shelling out top dollar for lodgings in the area, and home and apartment owners flooded the market with pricey rentals.
