There will be a meeting at the Chestermere Town Hall in the Main Foyer regarding the Edgewater Crossing Area Structure Plan.   This area of land is just South of the lake bordering East Chestsrmere Drive down to Township road 240, over to Rainbow Road.  This area is between the lake and the railroad crossing.  It should be a very interesting area, now much more viable as the train seldom goes down this track any more.  For further information call Paul Mercer at Brown and Associates Planning Group 403-692-4535. Chesterview Estates Real Estate Search Chesterview Estates MLS Listings Chesterview Estates was started by George Trutina who is now the developer for Rainbow Falls. This project started about the same time as Phase 1 of the golf course but was finished much sooner. At that time the town demanded that minimum lot frontage be 60’. This is why we think this is such a great area. The first homes in this area were built between 1994 and 1997 a few still built in 1999. George Trutina had Truman homes at that time, we are always delighted to find a home that he built. He put quality at a good price in his homes. Douglas Homes joined Truman as the largest builders in the area. Many homes here were built by smaller builders or contracted privately by the home owner.   Types of Homes in Chesterv...

125 Building permits for homebuilders issued so far in 2010.  For comparison for the same period of 2007 there were 239 issued, in 2008 112, in 2009 105.   So building permits are up from the previous two years but still much lower than 2007.  Additional permits for decks and other structures are not included in these figures.  Truman homes has been issued the most at 41.  This would include their highly successful Cascades Townhouse development in Rainbow Falls.  Truman will be bulding more as they have started on the second phase of the Cascades. The total homebuilders number so far are: Greenboro Estate Homes       3 Jager Homes                          6 Landmark Homes                   2 Lupi Custom Homes               4 Reid Build Homes                  13   Rhythm Homes         ...

This little visitor was trying to get a sneak peak! Chestermere residents Gary Dagg and Gilles Mallet have once again converted Dagg's three car garage into the Nightmere Inn.  113 West Creek Blvd. will once again be a very spooky place to visit on 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday October 30th and 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday October 31st. There will be actors, and spooky rooms to visit.  It is not for everyone, so if you are easily scared this is not the place.  Dagg and Mallet ask that you bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank.  Last year they had enough food donated to fill a cube van.  They had  1,200 people through.  Next year they will be looking for sponsors, as it is getting a bit expensive to run on their own.

We are working with a lot of buyers these days...Overwhelmingly they are coming off the internet.  A good website is the best marketing tool a realtor can have. Of course it helps when you have been working in an area for 18 years and people refer their friends and family to you.   Lately we have been selling a lot of condos.  We have sold 3 in Rainbow Falls and one in Westmere this past month.  One set of buyer's were sisters who have family in the area.  They had looked at the Brownstones in Rainbow Falls when they were being built.  The unit they bought for under $280,000 was $340,000 when it was new.  At that time it was beyond their means.  Now it is a great deal.  These clients were a referral from their parents.  Another couple is coming back from BC.  They were able to get the...

There is a realtor (with a team)  in our community that has all of his seller's not wanting to look at offers on Sundays.  We say bring them to us, our clients are ready to deal. We understand that buyers often need to do business on weekends when they are not working.  The key here is they have a job and they are working during the week.  Yes some offers can wait until Monday to present, but if there are two properties and one will deal with it right away and the other won't.  As a buyer's realtor I would recommend that they offer on the property that will respond to their offer no matter what day it is.  Right now relocation buyers are a great buyer because they have to move and they do not (in general) have a house to sell.  When a relocation comes into town to buy they usually do it...

The Chestermere election forum had about 50 voters of age attend.  The kids who sponsored it did much better there were 20 of them.  Too bad the youth cannot vote.  I guess when you can't do something it is more attractive, than when it is something you take for granted.  As it was 4 of the new candidates were away.  2 were away on business, and two just were not there.  Keith Crowder attended by phone as he had to be out of town, and he answered the questions by speaker phone.  The incumbents were all in attendance.  As this forum was sponsored by Yell it seemed most of the questions concerned Youth.  You could submit your questions, and they were then drawn from a large box.   It seems that the youth had some time on their hands to fill in lots of  questions.  Question 1.  What do you...

Your list of friends that want to waterski does get a bit shorter when the water is 40 degrees Farenhight. But you can still find ski partners in Chestermere Lake.  Just minutes from Calgary Alberta Chestermere Lake is a manmade lake that you can waterski, wakeboard or sail on. These are pictures of Doug McKay and our neighbour out skiing and enjoying the quiet water this week.

Keith Crowder has been such a help to us in our real estate business when selling a Lakefront home.  For the couple of years there has been an issue with the titles of lakefront homes in Chestermere.  As lakefront realtors we have always ensured that lakefront buyer's understand exactly what they are getting when they buy a lakefront property. As a representative of WID Keith has helped us ensure that buyers understand exactly what they are buying and what any future liabilities would be.  With Keith''s help we have never had a buyer come back and say that they now have a bill from the town for land that they did not know they woud have to buy. Sadly some individuals that did not have us represent us have had that problem. I know that Keith would have helped that buyer in his capacity a...
