I am not sure if I post a Thank You to Active Rain every year when we are giving thanks as a challenge but if I don't I should and here is why:I used to love writing in my High School years and I excelled at it. Honestly, I was so good at it that my Creative Writing teacher, Ms. Peggy, stole about half my work. With a little modification she later published it as her own. I was in love with Ms Peggy (whole nother story) and I'm thankful for her as well. The main reason I quit writing was that PC's and spell check were not yet invented plus life was happening and I was struggling to pay the bills... no time to write. Back to PC's and spell check. Although my mother was an artist and writer in her own right she had a horrible blind spot. I would come home on a fantastic high because I knew...

There is no better way to wrap up the dining room remodeling but to paint the add finishing touch to the walls. Usually, homeowners paint the walls with plain colors, attach decors, and hang wall curtains to finish their dining room look. However, there is a classical of decorating your dining room walls—mural painting. What is mural painting? Mural painting refers to artwork that is painted on the walls or ceiling. This decoration technique is used even during the Renaissance Period, which explains why catholic churches walls are heavily painted with religious visuals. Typically, this form of painting is done inside the walls of dominant places like churches and political halls. However, over time, homeowners adapted it as a way to decorate their homes. There are two ways mural paintin...

Thanksgiving 2021: Dancing in the Rain In 2009, I found a voice here at ActiveRain after a fellow agent suggested this unique real estate platform. A little hesitant at first, sitting back observing, until realizing I had something to say. Since then, I have not held back.  I gained confidence, industry insight and valuable knowledge that otherwise may not have been available, once taking that first step. There are so many wonderful people I have met here on ActiveRain who are true experts in their fields and are always more than willing to help. Engaging in wonderful conversations with other members takes it to a more personal place and never once have I been disappointed by picking up the phone and calling another AR professional. Occasionally, I have found friendships that will last ...

I am thankful for doctors and all medical staff. They are human and as such they make mistakes. I avoid them as much as possible. I do get my annual screenings but even something as simple as that is subject to error. Most recently, after seeing a doctor for the first time she ordered the annal mammogram screening. Doctors note the history of breast cancer on the screening orders. This doctor’s note as to which breast had cancer was WRONG! I called the office to get clarification on what that note meant. Does that indicate the breast that had cancer or the one that did not? They offered an apology and directed me to correct it. We must all be vigilant and check for mistakes because doctors make mistakes. I am thankful I have the wisdom to know this and the courage to always ask questions...

I am going to define WONDER so that you can better appreciate this entrance window into something deep and everlasting and not just stop at the word itself. Pause and consider this definition: Surprise with admiration, stirred with beauty, the unexpected, the unfamiliar driven by desire to explore and gravitate toward. Sounds like a recipe for abundant life. Combine, stir, let set and eat as desired?WONDERMENT (meant)When one is engaged, consumed or surrounded by wonder, they are said to be in a state of awe. When you take fear (of the unknown) and mix with reverence plus respect is how you get awe. Awe is wordless and is its own reward.WONDERING (wander-in)When wonder is making the rounds, it has a dynamic exclusive to its being which is the ability to summon attention to itself using ...

I started delivering pies a few years ago to clients who closed in the past year, along with some of my clients that have given me so much business.    This year was no exception, and Wednesday I left early to pick up the pies from Village Inn and started delivering.   I left enough time to "catch up" and drive time between clients.   I also had many Sellers move out of state this year, so sent gift cards to them. Was SOOO much fun seeing these clients and they showed me what home improvements they have done, and some are finalizing their move-in.   The gratitude towards these clients was SUCH a wonderful feeling yesterday!    I had to chuckle at my first delivery to a past client I have known close to 20 years.  I sold her home in Broomfield this year, and she said she needs to buy ano...
