However, buyer traffic is still at historically high levels compared to pre-pandemic showings.” Odeta Kushi, Deputy ...

Applying for a home loan can be an exciting process; however, this is a major financial decision. Therefore, potential homeowners need to make sure they understand how to shop for the best mortgage rate possible. A mortgage is usually a long-term loan, allowing potential homeowners to purchase a home using small monthly payments. Fortunately, there are a variety of tools available that can make the process easier. What do potential homeowners need to know when shopping for mortgage rates? Do Get A Pre-Approval LetterFirst, all potential homeowners need to get a pre-approval letter before they start the home-buying process. Strong Seller Market Continues in Door County, WI Real Estate As of this writing in mid-September, it's still a strong Seller's market in Door County, Wisconsin.  Remember just a few years ago when we had excess inventory, especially for vacant land?  Those days appear to be over, at least for the foreseeable future.  According to the Door County Multiple Listing Service, August 2021 brought 97 sales north of Sturgeon Bay, excluding Washington Island.  This would have included homes, condominiums, vacant land and commercial properties.  This would not necessary include anything For Sale by Owner unless it was recorded in the Door County MLS by a member that sold a For Sale by Owner. In contrast, the month of August only produced 52 new listings, according to Door County MLS data.  So dem...

(Bend Premier Real Estate)
After a month of terrible, hazardous air due to smoke from several forest fires settling in the Bend Oregon area, on Saturday, 9-11-21, Central Oregonians were thrilled to experience clean air as the bad air dissipated and the normal sparkling blue skies of September returned. We had planned on hiking Green Lakes on 9-11 as part of the series of scheduled hikes we had set up in April due to the newly implemented 2021 Wilderness permit system.  However, we were ready to cancel if the air quality was as it had been the Saturday before - extremely hazardous with limited visibility and health recommendations to stay indoors. As we drove up Century Drive towards the Green Lakes trailhead, the remaining smoke in the area was evident until we passed Widgi Creek and all of a sudden, the skies w...

1954 Basketball Tournament Fun Contest!I have been given several tournament programs from the 1950's in White County AR by Pat Holloway, a friend from way back.  They were of girl's tournaments that were very popular before some no-fun characters cut out all girl's sports! (Don't get me started on that!) We had no girl's basketball until Title IX changed that.Glancing through them, I saw this unusual page and thought how much fun this would have been.  I can't offer a prize but I will say that Miss Mystery still lives in Searcy and is actually giving me permission to share this.  Someone had written the name of the winner so I covered it with the yellow paper! Searcy Sleuths, let's see if you remember who Miss Mystery was!

(Although I'm retired, I love sharing my knowledge and learning from other real estate industry professionals.)
On Friday, day 15 of my 60+ day road trip my new friend, Charlene, from Blue Springs, Missouri and I drove out to Warrensburg and enjoyed a lovely day playing golf at Mules National Golf Course. Our tee time put us off behind a group of guys participating in a Bachelor Party but they were just having fun and two groups offered to let us play through. We zipped around the course in less than 3 1/2 hours and were in the clubhouse enjoying adult beverages and a hamburger before we knew it. The greens were recently sanded and we had no high expectations for our putting prowess but we did get to enjoy a legitimate birdie shot when I got a 4 on a par 5. Other than the aerated and sanded greens the course was in great shape. It was another amazing day on the course with my new friend, Charlen...

Hunting for a New Home In Connecticut?House hunting has become a contact sport over the past year. The idealized visionof a leisurely Saturday morning reviewing open houses and plotting the day’stours over lattes and croissants is a thing of the past. While popping into the localopen house might be fun for the casual looker, if you are serious about findingyour next home, this climate demands strategy. First and most importantly, know exactly what you need and want in a new home. Then share this vision in detail with your agent. Identify not only what you need inthe property, but which communities would best fit your lifestyle. With lowerinventory from which to choose, you also need to be clear about anycompromises you are willing to make—if any.  Once you know what you’re looking for, t...
