I owned that same (I'm guessing) REALTOR® hat all the boards sell but did not get any action from it. I do carry cards with me - just gave 5 out last night at the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals mixer in fact. I find walking Whiskey through my neighborhood gets me the most real estate action. I've sold one home because of him so far (and we're new to the neighborhood as of last August).

The world and real estate have changed significantly since then, Richie. 

Many things I did in the "good ole days" worked well then, but not so much now.  The Internet plays a huge role in the shifts and changes we see in the world at large, and closer to home in the world of real estate. 

Connecting with people and building trust WORKS.  That is something a robot will never be able to do unless the robot is romancing another robot, hubba hubba.

Probably still works well today. I prefer the t-shirts. I know some agents still wear the name tags just about everywhere, usually combined with some type of magnetic sign on their car.
