Interesting. Sounds like a spat and pay back letter. However if the letter is true my question would be, why wouldn't the property manager of this home not know this? Our rental homes are to be checked every 4 months, that way if any thing is going on the property manager is aware of it.

You can have it tested for contamination. Some states require meth houses to go on a registry. You'll need to disclose this going further. You may want to find out if renters insurance covers the cleanup.

I sold a house that had been used to cook meth. The house tested positive. It had to be cleaned which included carpet, light fixtures, ceiling fixtures, appliances, all furnishings, etc be removed and disposed of. It was cleaned by a company that does this sort of work and retested. After it tested negative, we had to get new flooring, fixtures, appliances, etc. Although it tested negative after the cleaning, I did disclose it. It was a hassle to say the least.

Oh my gosh, that is awful! I would first test the unit to be sure meth is present because if it is, the cost to remediate that unit and those around it that were likely also impacted is going to be exorbitant.
