Sadly the high-tech 'blocking' programs don't work. We put our names & numbers on a DNC list and they still called. RARELY was anyone ever prosecuted the $10K that they were told they would be fined if they phoned anyone on that list.

Because nothing was done (or should I say VERY LITTLE), larger companies now provide lists for sale and those lists include the DNC numbers. Had they prosecuted to the fullest initially, I believe these corporations would have never been formed to sell the information. 

I hope they go down in flames, Fred!

Yes I get many and now I don't answer unless I recognized the number. Otherwise I text saying I'm busy and texting is better. If no reply, I just block them. If they leave a message, I return call if it's a legit caller...

 

But I doubt that this will stop Robo Calling, especially since the Politicians also violated the DNC as well...

I don't think there is any lawsuit that will stop this, and yes, I get robo calls all the time, and no, I haven't stopped answering the phone.

If the scams didn't work, they would stop.

If you call me and you are not in my data base, I will either see the display of SPAM CALL or a number with which I am not familiar...often from an unknown area code. I don't answer those calls. If you are a human being and you have something I need to know, leave a message and I will call you back. No message? No loss!

I get calls and texts everyday. At least 5 per day. I block many of them. The texts are mostly from people claiming that they help realtors and NAR members get deals on health insurance. I doubt they'll ever stop.

I get a ton of them.  I stopped answering a lot of calls a few months back, so I only take those in my area code and figure an out of area client may leave a message if possible.  I just start blocking the heck out of some, which has helped, but I hope this lawsuit works.

Yes, since my cell is public ~ I get some robo calls and but even more/recently/robo texts. iPhone made it easy to block them, so I do not think twice to choose that option with all unwanted cals, texts, emails. To tell you the truth, other agents are the biggest junk creators in my email.

Mostly I answer my phone unless it says spam risk, then I generally do not, but still sometimes.  I normally just pay, please remove me from your calling list and hang up on them.  But I get a lot of calls from "unknown" numbers that are calls I need to take because of a couple of situations (the little older fella I take care of in a memory care facility.... the techs and nurses call me from their phone and not the facility phones) and because I have grandkids in school, a husband in law enforcement and a daughter working with crazy people at a hospital and a son in law who's a firefighter... I could always get a call about one of them, so I just generally answer.

I receive them all the time. On the DNC List...Yes! Doesn't help or work. I always answer my phone when I can. I also use the "end call" button to control my life...a little. I do sometimes wish I had an old landline made from that high impact polymer...nothing hit home the message of ones disgust as a handset being slammed down on the cradle. Man! The good ole days!

I get a LOT of them. As a retired person, I don't feel compelled to answer any call from an unknown number, plus I have a RoboCall blocker app on my phone.

Yes I get them many times a day. My phone will say spam, so I don't answer them. If it's someone that need to get a hold of me they will leave a message. I doubt it will stop the calls. Fines and jail time might make them think twice.

I'm inundated with those calls. I would like to think an expensive law suit would make it go away... but I'm not sanguine that it will.  I still pick up my phone however. I can't tell how often I see "suspected spam" on a number and it's a real person.

I'm with John Juarez on SPAM calls.  If you're in my data base I'll know who you are - if not - quietly goes to spam.  If somewhere leaves a message, which is rare, then it could be important. My guess is about 99.9% are spam.

I get a ton of those calls... and I used to be polite... figuring "well, someone is just trying to make a living", and I'd very politely try to get off the phone, and politely try to say not.

I'm not sure there's even a nano-second left between the moment I recognize that it's a spam call, and the loud click resonating in their ears.

That's what I miss about the old Bakelite rotary Ma-Bell phones, that I could slam down on them!!  So satisfying.

I would not hold back, using any and all methods, to go after anyone remotely or directly connected to robo-calling, scamming & fishing. I get them, but do not answer any calls out of area unless I am expecting them. This lawsuit is the step in the right direction. If they don't tame and subdue this, legitimate phone calls, text & emails will suffer as well as ourselves. All major players like Facebook, twitter and all the rest should join suit unless they are a part of this continuous harassment. Death to all robo-ing!

I do get them frequently Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate and they have mostly been in regards to employees during covid. I had none so I hang up immediately. I don't know if you can report them when they use a spoof number. Even more frequently I get hang up calls.

Yes I am on the 'do not call list' and still get them plus those annoying texts about NAR backed health insurance coverage. Received a call from a dead agent's phone number...scolded the google rep who claimed he could get me on the #1 page of their site!

Suing will not help...in my opinion.

I don't think fining them works, they then file BK.

The calls with no one on the incoming are the most bothersome. If they are appointment setting calls, if I answered accidentally I start selling loans. Then block.

I do and when my phone says suspected spam I will check later to see if a message was left, then block as needed. the thing that *really* gets me torqued is the SPAM texts from insurance providers that NAR sold our info to!
