I'm surprised RedFin is that high.

Clearly it's zillow. I have no stats and I stopped thinking about Z or any other sites years ago and focused on what we do well. That's what matters - keep doing what works. And that my friend is building a strong referral base and network.

Q#1: No clue. 

Q#2: I prefer my website. 

Q#3: Yes, for my website. 

Q#4: Buyers are out there. Homes are selling in my area. 

I believe that I read recently that Z is still getting most of the traffic, not that it matters to anyone other than Z.

Buyers love Zillow - you can see how many people have clicked or saved any listings that are on zillow and it's always a TON!

Fred, When we were looking for a new home in the WV/VA/MD area, Z is the site that we found the easiest to use.  It wasn't the one that helped us find the land we actually purchased (we used Google maps, county tax records and scouring names to call them to find the off market 10 acres we actually bought).  And I still use Z to track the area sales for the new area we're going to. 

Like or not, Zillow has carved out a presence & it is holding. The others are wannabes. Of course, they all feed off the MLS which is due to agents plying their trade. The buyers are always there, wanting to be stirred, encouraged & prodded including getting them prequalified and trigger pulling ready to purchase should something surface. Almost all renters are candidates for purchase if you show them how. Also, let's not forget the trade-up market either. They are always susceptible to change if it favors

In my area, it's Z, R.com and Redfin and has been pretty consistently the highest ranking sites in that order, for about a decade. 

According to our MLS service they perform a better job of providing us better exposure! 

And since to me Real Estate is a Local business, I concur... 

Buyers are ready, willing and ABLE!  But in my area the competition is still fierce and it is very difficult to win a bid due to the large amount of cash buyers and buyers who have huge downpayments.  I get most of my buyers from referral by past or present clients and on social media or my own website or real estate PhoneAPP.

Don't panic and go organic. Build your blogs, videos and do a better job than RTZ etc. Local information. No one knows your local market better than you the live and local agent or broker. Also, rural brokers where land is a big and it is not house house house. ZRT are not land sites Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate .

Z and Redfin are the most used in my area. I never heard of Yahoo homes. 

How much of this is national and how much is regional.  redfin is not in my market to the best of my knowledge

My buyers always said RF was better. No one ever mentioned R.com which is a shame. Worse yet - no one like the R/M website.

I agree with what Debe said. I have clients who send me the listings they find and they often go to Z. It's just easy to use as is R.com. I do have people who use my website but nothing like those numbers.

I mostly see people using Zillow and Realtor.com. Don't know anyone who uses Yahoo or Redfin (well, maybe one who used Redfin). Once I put my own clients and prospects into my mls search process, they seem to use that to search for homes.

I really don't use any of them so I don't have a preference. My go-to for up-to-date listing and property information will always be the MLS and public records. 

I'm sure Zillow is #1. 

Zillow and it's properties is the most common, sadly.  NAR sold us out when they didn't see the value of realtor.com

Sadly, I think Z leads the group.  Not a fan, but I cannot discount their impact and continuing innovation.  

I was a Redfin Partner Agent during the great recession and those leads helped me survive.

My brokerage offer free leads from Realtor.com,  now rotate on Zillow. Can not complian.

We don't have an MLS in my market (likely one of the last markets not to have one. As a result, the site that gets the most traffic in my market is Streeteasy - built specifically for NYC and about 11 years ago bought by Zillow. Since we don't have an MLS- many agents use Streeteasy like a default tool and while we have an internal brokerage system- as a listing agent, most of the broker inquiries I receive are originating from Streeteasy. It's a consumer facing web site- so buyers use it as well. 

I have a love/hate relationship with Streeteasy/Zillow- but I can say this much, it's a much better site for NYC than all the other big public facing listing sites because it was built specifically for our market - i.e. condo vs. co-op (and condop- that category isn't as well defined), common charges and property taxes vs. maintenance charges, whether a building is friendly for pets, parents buying for children, W/D capable apartments, etc. 

I don't have stats- but in my last listing almost all buyer inquiries- whether it be a buyers agent or the buyer direct- was coming from Streeteasy and I had strong traffic for that apartment. It was probably at least 95% of traffic from that one source.   

I just don't care.
