Pretty sad the U.S.A. women's soccer team's greater intent was to show the world how much they hate America instead of being vested in the game. Will not watch their disrespectful display and they should not be allowed to represent.

 

I will support those athletes who show respect for our country and our flag, after all, the country has supported them. The rest should find their own way to another country that better suits their agenda.

I will not, and do not, support any member of the US team that takes a knee and disrespects our flag and the United States. 

Anyone who does that, in my opinion, should be kicked off the team and never be eligible to receive a medal. 

This year, I will not be watching. I will leave it at that.

All Americans have the First Amendment which guarantees free speech...even when those spoken to object to the message.

Athletes taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem, starting with Colin Kaepernick, are reminding us of those above facts and the uncomfortable fact that they are often not given the same respect, deference, kindness, tolerance and justice as most white Americans receive. They are not disrespecting the Anthem, our Flag or our Country.

They are using the pulpit granted to them by their success, their many years of work, their athleticism, and their popularity to make a point which is often lost or misinterpreted.

There were two parts of the Olympic Opening Ceremony that I enjoyed; the tribute to the Israeli Athletes murdered in the 1972 Munich Olympics and the USA Team entering the stadium.  I'll be rooting for the USA and hope we compete well and the athletes win their events.  Gold, Silver or Bronze.  We know they will represent us well.

I won't watch any athletes who choose to portray the United States as a terrible country.  I find it embarrassing and incredibly disrespectful to people have fought for the freedoms we have.  I used to have NFL season tickets and now I turn the channel when any of those "woke" leagues are on. I thought I'd miss it, but it's not that bad and it saves me a small fortune to boot.  They can do what they want but I won't be there to support it.
