When I opened my shop 16 years ago next month, I went to my first broker to get this advice. She gave me great advice - get an insurance broker. They research and compare policies annually and give their recommendations as to who is the best . . . then I choose.
I have had CRES many times, Great American and Landy and each year whoever is the best for what I need for the best price is underwritten.
AND I'M GONNA SAY THIS RIGHT NOW TO THOSE WHO WILL BE BASHING AN ANON. THIS IS WHAT THE FEATURE WAS MADE FOR! The new broker in the new office does NOT NEED their COMPETITORS to know they don't know how to find insurance. It's not their business.

I'm real curious as to why you aren't letting us know who you are to ask the question. My broker has used RESSI for years to broker our E&O and it has great rates based on number of agents, income, services and risk reduction education.

If you're not the owner of the company, I suggest you talk to your designated broker who has probably researched all the options for your jurisdiction.

As others said, see an Independent Insurance Company that represents many companies and many plans. You may have someone local that can address not only your E&O needs; they may offer umbrella policies that cover many potential liability situtations.

I'm in a franchise & they just get it for me. Prices were always lower than most here on AR when it gets mentioned.

Instead of starting a small brokerage, start a team within a large brokerage where they already have negotated great deals on things like insurance, tech, and much more.
