I can only speak for me. I am always professional and caring. It has nothing to do with the market.

No. More agents are desperate which makes them do desperate things.

Real estate professionals understand different markets.  The pace of a particular market(hectic or not-so-hectic) does not determine the professionalism.

I'd like to think that how I deal with my clients does not depend on what the market is doing, but on what is best for them and their needs! But one certainly has to be sensitive to what's going on right now and how it impacts our buyers and sellers and how we can best support them.

Thoughtful question, Mark! Thank you!

Either an agent is keenly aware of their fiduciary duties or they are not.  Market has nothing to do with it.

If you are actively engaged in your market, you will adjust as needed to work within its pace.  If that means "caring more" then that's what it is.

For me personally .... my standard of care, caring, and professionalism is always present - the market does not change that.   It seems that with all that is happening around us people do need different levels of care, kindness, and compassion.

I've been told I am "wrong" to spend as much time with people listening to them as I do.  I say to those people they lack compassion. This profession for me is not all about money. It is about making connections and lifting others that need lifting.

When we do good, good comes back to us in ways that often cannot be measured.

Why does the market have anything to do with caring for your clients?

If you are not caring for your clients then there is something wrong with you not with them.

This is the wrong audience. A survey of those who recently purchased or sold a home would be more accurate.
More professional for an agent means something entirely different than the meaning applied by the client.
But, if it is helpful, I observe agent in todays hectic environment are not more capable of READING that those who operated in the more leaisurely past.
I have been adapting, that doen not necessarely mean more professional which is kind of a foggy noation.

Those of us who remember the way the market was last time it was fast and furious would certainly be . . . but frisky markets bring in new blood and they won't always know how to CYA and their clients off the top . . . and the beat goes on . . .

Once you've been through a few real estate cycles, the what to do and when, how only improves if you adjust your "sales". If you do not deliver what your buyers, sellers, others in the real estate circle want, those who will step up and eat away at your market share. Reinvent what you do daily. Stay enthursed, passionate and cutting edge or rot out and think about retirement. Lead, follow or get out of the way.
