No.

That is just speculation and not a fact.

I would be more concerned with rats in the attic.

Personally I would replace it and make it look better all around.  Disclosing it?  Have seen those years ago but never thought about disclosing the issue. Kind of creepy really....that was a dum idea!

Now that is a good question Fred. It's not a latent defect probably doesn't need to be disclosed. However, someone could get hurt if they were to rip open the walls not knowing they are there. Now that is a double edged question! lol

I would certainly alert them to the possibilities in an older home.  A

Would that not be a 'latent defect'?
Does anyone KNOW that there is a razor blade graveyard in there?

So take out the cabinet and see if there are any dead bodies in there . . . LOL

Seriously . . . it is only speculation unless someone discloses that they actually added the blades to the wall behind the cabinet.

Let the owner fill out the disclosure form and move on! Probably not an issue that must be disclosed and more likely a discretionary disclosure..

Nah, no one used those slots.  And they have rusted beyond recognition.  When was the last time you used a double bladed razor

I would not consider this a latent defect. If some youngster doesn't know what that is for , their home inspector should.

Well you know what they say... if you have to ask whether or not to disclose it, then you might as well.  What have you got to lose?  If they cancel the sale because of this then it answers your question.  If they don't cancel, even better.

If you are feeling paranoid, disclose.
If disclosed, that means it will appear as a 'must do' in the repaits list.
In a recent event, the inspector also did the 4 point and transferred ALL inspection finding onto the 4 point. Anything on the 4 point the lender will require to be fixed. Quigly was the name.
How about the potential of 'scat' in the attic?
May be the owner used really potentent bug killers?
Or two owners ago they emptied the can of cloradane around the perimeter of the house?
How about the potential for florescents to flicker and be a trigger for those with certain conditions?
Or the no longer avaialable batteries that power the front doorbell? Solar panels operating at 40% efficiency? Infestation of mole-crickets that will distroy the yard? Where does it end?
Disclosures is an invition to be sued for what you could not know and proving what you do not know is impossible. Makes it hard to PROTECT those who hire us if we do business as usual. There are too many quigley's out there.

Fred, until I saw this question, I never once gave it a thought... Not one time... BUT, you're right, there might be a huge pile of used blades in the wall... Disclose?... I'm not so sure... Maybe let the home inspector point it out?

I can't recall seeing such a slot in a medicine in my real estate activity. I lived in houses that had such a feature when I was young...before I started to shave.

Our young, tech savvy buyers would not know the purpose of such a feature if they encountered one.
